Jose and his quest for Champions League football

Yet another thread made to provoke a retaliation from a set of supporters.

He had one bad performance, but to be honest the whole team was poor, if you bothered to watch his previous appearances for Liverpool you'd see how solid he has been. If anything, most of the attacks came through on our right, where Skrtel was defending.

 

I tell you what, we should seriously be aiming for top 4/5 this season. We've already shown that we can be solid away & at home, with Best firing them in and the defense staying solid we could get euopean football next season!

 

You know eventually we have to play good teams (Arsenal don't count anymore!), that run of Man United, Man City, Chelsea before Christmas will soon hit home. That said theres no reason we can't reach the Europa League ahead of the likes of Villa and Everton, but that top 4/5 is unbreachable until we grab the fabled '20 goal a season' striker and a bit more squad depth.

 

W might get lucky and pick up some points in those fixtures, however 4/5 is far beyond us

 

I think even if everything went our way, 6th is the very highest we can achieve right now. Getting carried away I think.

 

Actually the thread was started questioning whether moving to Liverpool craving Champions League football was a thought out decision from Jose. My opinion he should of saw his contract out then looked at all the offers he got from around europe, teams who are actually in the Champions League. No one questioned his performance.

 

Without question, football doesn't work along the lines of beating Wigan and the promoted teams by default and losing to the top 4, theres always room for a slipup and our routine point taking from Chelsea. I just mean that I don't expect to remain unbeaten through those.

 

So why create this thread? To mock a player because he left for a team he thought might enter the Champions League this season except they aren't in the league position to do that five games into the season?

 

To discuss it. Its a messageboard. It would be rubbish if people didn't create threads. Or do we just not post anything until next May?

 

See, had you actually posted this originally, you wouldn't have garnered such a reaction.
I agree that, as a free agent, he would have seen interest from more parties next season, many of which were in the CL. One of them may even be us...
After seeing Nolan leave, and Carroll before him, it's obvious (from his tweet, if that was him) that he didn't think the club would do well over the coming season and so left before it started. As it happens, you've started the season well, but just wait til May and see who is where. Who knows, you may keep up your good form.

Sorry, the way this thread was created was more to insult him or provoke a retaliation from LFC supporters, there really wasn't any 'discussing' going on in the first post.
