Still wouldn't rule out Santon getting injured again before Jan, might aswell try our options in a game that doesn't matter as much as a game in the league

Perch played the last reserve game at CB and kadar was at RB
    so will go with this

    Elliot
    Kadar Perch Taylor Ferguson
    Sammy Gosling Guthrie Marv
    Shola Lovenkrands

with the bench stacked with first teamers Colo,Ba,Ben Arfa,Cabaye,Jonas etc. hopefully i'll be proved wrong and we'll play our strongest team as we should if we're taking this seriously

I will be fuming if he played such a weak team.

I personally don't think he will. His team was strong against Scunthorpe and that was tough, so no way will he play so many reserve players/bench warmers. We won't see many changes.

We wont play a weak team, especially since we already played a strong one v Scunthorpe.

I reckon 6 changes, all of them senior players coming in (Elliot, Guthrie, Gosling and probably Perch amongst them).

This team would lose. I don't think Pardew will make many changes. As I said earlier, the next two or three weeks is a very unconjested fixture period so no need to take any risks. If we're lucky with the draw there's no reason we can't go a long way in this competition, providing we field a strong team.

Agree, that team would lose. Shola and Loven are ****, and playing 4 lads in the midfield who haven't played one full game, and 3 in defence who haven't played at all. Not a chance.

It will be a strong team, I reckon Pardew fancies a cup run, as will the players.

I'm not sure what we can get away with to be honest, Shola and Lover were class in the Championship, remember this team was the best in the league by some distance:

    Harper
    Simpson Williamson/Taylor Colo Enrique
    Routledge Nolan Smith/Guthrie Jonas
    Carroll Shola/Lover

<laugh> I know but even Smith was one of the better players! It's not like Shola's got any better or worse in the last 6 years.

    -------------Krul--------------
    Perch----Colo----Saylor----Fergie
    Marveux--Gosling--Vuckic--Abeid
    ---------Sammy---Ba--------------

Subs: Elliot, Raylor, Simpson, Cabaye, Tiote, Best & some deserving youth kid

I believe playing Raylor will have a major effect on his fitness for the Blackburn game on Saturday (which i regard as number one priority) i'm saying this because i think Raylor is our weakest link in the team and if he's in any way tired Blackburn will exploit. (specially with Hoilett)

Pardew needs to seriously get us another two defenders, even Campbell would add some kind of reassurance!

Sammy deserves a game, Ba needs a goal.

    :)

Team will be strong - Pardew's said he intends to take the CC seriously. Expect Marveaux, Shola, Gosling and probably Guthrie - the "fringes" - to start.
    My best bet:
    Elliot
    Simmo Saylor Colo Raylor
    Marv Gosling Guthrie Jonas
    Shola Best
