2 clean sheets in 24 away matches is a shocker, maybe we should invite some gooners to the stat thread.
Sheff Utd haven't lost a home game when winning at HT for something like 87 matches. That's a good stat. Wish we could have 10% of that!
I know what you mean, but not completely unbelievable if you have followed Wilder’s career closely. I mentioned a few years back that I’d like him to have had a crack here. The moment he went to Sheff Utd meant that was unlikely unless we fell below the in leagues and he then failed there. His achievements at his clubs as a manager is incredible. Not just the success, but the size of the turn around.
Oh yeah I wouldn't be overly surprised as he's done brilliantly at both Northampton and Sheffield as you mention. Would still be an incredible achievement with that squad though.
And Oxford and the club before that (Chesterfield). He’s a top manager/coach, he really is. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with the ownership issues they had. Halifax, not Chesterfield
Do you think the owners may want a bigger name? Didn't the Saudi guy get the club? Oh for a wealthy foreign owner...
Good luck with that!! I don’t think he’s beeped back in Sheffield again. Yes, the Saudi guy got them.
BT saying that Fernandinho's red card will hurt them going forward, given their lack of CBs. Clearly BT have no idea that City are playing us next. (And he might not have played on Tuesday anyway)
Yes (although you're now making me doubt myself). League games and cup games are kept separate when it comes to yellow-card-accumulation suspensions. But not red card suspensions. PEH managed to waste two of his four match ban last season on the two Derby cup matches.
Everton host Spurs next weekend. Now I know that Spurs are hardly stellar this season, but that is still very lose-able for Everton. Which would set up the following weekend very nicely, for both dugouts!
Sat watching tv with my daughter this eveming, only just thought about missing bbc1. Was anyone sadistic enough to watch it? Come on, own up.
