Banned?! I'm OK, annoyed with today's result, though. Who were you on 606 and how are you? I'm going to say something about Carroll which will probably be unpopular, but I thought back then he was a panic buy and I still think it. We were supposed to keep Torres, he did one, so we needed a replacement and fast. He's been a waste of money and I think Kenny kind of knows it, but we're lumbered.
I'm not using injuries as an excuse, I reckon we could have kept the defence the same but with two defensive midfielders the holes in defence could have been sealed.
Maybe we should have had Spearing and Lucas sitting in the centre to compete for the ball, with Adam further on in a 4-2-3-1, with Kuyt or Bellamy on the right. Ah well, we got it wrong, we lost, and we move on. Anyone comparing this result to 12 months ago needs to get a bit of perspective. The club is in far greater shape than it has been for quite a few years, and one bad result doesn't suddenly mean everything is ruined. Hopefully we'll thump Wolves next week and it'll all be forgotten about.
You might have something with the Spucas partnership, but if we do that, we'd have to choose from Kuyt, Suarez, Downing, Bellamy, Adam, Carroll, Henderson and Gerrard for the remaining 4 positions.
4 positions, since it'd be the 3-1 bit of a 4-2-3-1. Well, today I'd have gone with Downing, Adam, Kuyt/Bellamy. Those 3 behind Suarez. If Gerrard was fully match fit, I'd have him in for Adam.
Ah yeah. It would depend on the opposition for me, mostly go for Downing, Suarez, Gerrard and Kuyt/Carroll.
I didn't see game today and I know it would be difficult to give a proper assessment given the result but what was your assesment of Coates? did you see anything encouraging?
To be honest, I didn't really notice him. I don't know whether that's a good thing or a bad thing. He couldn't do much once we went down to 9 and there were spaces all over.
Neither did I, he did well to keep the ball in at one point when everyone thought it would go out for a throw.
Kenny is not good enough manager to put Liverpool back at the top. he is your bog standard manager like most teams have and Liverpool will be an also ran like most of us will be......there are at least 10 clubs with much better chances of closing the gap on the big teams at the top......i liked Kenny as a player but as a manager then he is your joe average bog standard manager....
Bog standard? I've heard of box standard, but not bog, sorry mate, if you've got a bog standard manager I reckon he might be ****e
Surprised that after a couple of bad results (and only one poor display) loads of opposition fans turn up saying Kenny can't cut it. Do the same people appear after we've won and say how brilliant Kenny is? Do they ****. If you're gonna have a knee-jerk reaction, at least make it balnced.
The stupid thing is the 'honeymoon period' can't be won. If we keep winning then we're 'in it' and we lose we're out of it meaning they were 'right all along'.
I agree. And as I suggested a lot of them disappear when things are going well for us, so they don't have to admit they were wrong. They soon come out the woodwork though, with their selective interest in us.
Kenny achieved loads as a player but nothing as a manager, i honestly believe he is not a great manager and never will be, not many great players do make top notch managers....He was one of the best players i have ever witnessed playing the game in the world, but as a manager he is enthusiastic and loves Liverpool with a passion but that is not good enough as he just don't have what it takes to be a great manager......you cant fault his effort though as he does try i suppose....
Liverpool (1985–1991, 2011– )(Manager) Football League First Division * Winner: 1985/86, 1987/88, 1989/90 FA Cup * Winner: 1985/86, 1988/89 Charity Shield * Winner: 1986 (Shared) 1988, 1989, 1990 (Shared) Blackburn Rovers (1991–1995) (Manager) FA Premier League * Winner: 1994/95 Yeah, hasn't really done much as a manager...
Hey guys *waves* I'm in agreement with the guys that said it was one game and certainly doesn't count as a fair assesment on the ability of your team. Something that I was saying to Liverpool fans when we were being written off. Again as others have said, you can't blame injuries, all I've heard from you guys is how strong your squad is and anyway, we were also missing Lennon, Pienaar, Gallas, Dawson and Sandro with Corluka and VDV coming back from injury. I'm not sure there was much wrong with the refereeing either, Skrtel's first booking was a bit soft(it was him and Lucas) but Suarez was complaining constantly and showed a lack of respect to the ref from start to finish, a booking was just. Eitherway, I don't wish to start to debate the decisions on this thread, I've always thought myself that if you don't play well you can't complain much when the decisions against you. I said just the same after you guys beat us at Anfield two seasons ago, Defoe's goal disallowed and Crouch being yanked down by Kyriagos only for Kyriagos to get given a freekick. Anyway, enjoy the rest of the season, who knows you might get your revenge against us at Anfield
