I see Taqleed won again today without the assistance of Mr. Hills. Here some facts: Taqleed last 3 races: 6th August Newmarket - towards rear, ridden 3f out, never on terms - jockey R. Hills 2nd Sept Haydock - made all, ridden over 1f out, stayed on well final furlong - jockey R. Havlin 17th Sept Newbury (5lb ex) - held up in rear, headway on outside over 2f out, chased leader entering final furlong, stayed on to lead final 150 yards, kept on well - jockey T. O'Shea Taqleed went off favourite for the Cambridgeshire last year and finished 6th under Richard Hills. The horse has now run 10 times under rules. Here the record with Richard Hills on board: 12, 6, 8, 7 Here the record with Richard Hills NOT on board: 1, 1, 12, 5, 1, 1 Richard Hills - get down the job centre with your P45 !!
oddy go an have a watch of the race, i stupidly backed the horse hills was on think it was Dhameer. He never gave it a chance, let the horse get squeezed out at vital times and looked exceptionaly weak. I thought jockeys were meant to hold their positions and have strength in the saddle to give the horse maximum assistance, this was one of the worst rides i have seen hills give a horse, he simply gave it no assistance in the race
Please watch a replay if you can of the 4.15 at Newbury. He rode Kaafel and this ride is so shocking in the finish that a 7lb claimer would be called weak in the saddle. He acts like its the 4 furlong marker instead of the 1 pole pulls his whip through twirls it for effect and then uses it once. Changes hands and then starts to act like going to use it but does not. As the horse was on its first outing i am in favour of not using the whip but he should have had both hands up its neck and full hands and heels. He is completely ineffective in a finish, poor in the middle and shocking at the start, but he can take a horse to post very nicely. Please Mr Maktoum give your blue bloods the chance they deserve.
Hills- weak jockey. Tactically inept and rubbish at getting a horse out of trouble at a crucial stage. Cannot believe a horse as highly rated as Firdaws has to put up with him on top. I bet Varian must be pissed off.
Green Destiny anybody?! I thought Hills gave it a beautiful ride in the Wolferton. Perhaps he's a crook and getting paid for it?! I'm not a great one for criticising the jockey unless the ride is blatantly poor because there is a lot that can go wrong. However, that man Hills could get Frankel beat in a 4 runner selling race . . .
Here is a question for you... If Richard Hills were ever up on a charge on non-trying how on earth could they ever prove it ? Its not like they could replay past races and say oh look here Mr Hills look how animated you were on this previous mount or look how you made up this horses mind. He must be a dream to ride against as you only have to squeeze him up a little and he will take a pull on his horse as if running into a brick wall.
Zenyatta it was Michael Hills on Green Destiny in the Wolfreton, not Richard But talking of beautiful rides on Green Destiny, Fallon was sublime yesterday
My mistake. I remember it was a Hills boy, and a truly shocking ride, so i put two and two together! Fallon looked in trouble, but he didn't panic, he made a decisive move, and was ultimately a comfortable winner.
