Good Morning. It's Monday 21st October, and here are the Leeds Utd headlines

Leeds return to automatic spot after win against bogey side Birmingham City

Leeds returned to winning ways on Saturday again Birmingham City at Elland Road. The solitary goal came midway through the second half when Harrison took advantage when a City player slipped. The Manchester City loanee suddenly found himself in lots of space as he was running towards the Blues goalmouth. His pass found Kalvin Phillips who drilled the ball into the back of the net.

Does anybody feel we were slightly fortunate to win? Blues keeper Lee Camp didn't exactly cover himself with glory dealing with Phillips effort, but having suffered both injustices and terrible misfortune this season, we deserved a bit of luck.

Whilst Bielsa refuses to change the starting line up or the way Leeds play, it seems that the rest of the Championship have discovered how to counter Bielsa's style of play. The Birmingham game could have gone either way in my opinion, the Blues actually had more shots at goal than we did! Is it time for Bielsa to play two forwards and drop a midfielder? Will El Loco ever change?

    Bielsa's Post Match Interview

11 City fans arrested for crowd disturbance

Birmingham fans clashed with police and stewards at the final whistle as stewards tried to apprehend a City fan who ran onto the pitch. There was a "public order incident" in the coach car park after the game.

BBC Leeds sports editor Jonathan Buchan described on Twitter "terrible" scenes inside the stadium from Birmingham City fans, with "a few stewards receiving punches and kicks as they tried to apprehend a Birmingham fan who ran onto the pitch".

    Fresh injury blow for Hernandez

Pablo Hernandez returned to action on Friday for the U23's where he has picked up a fresh injury!

The 34yo had been sidelined for a month with a muscle injury. The good news is there was no recurrence of the old injury. The bad news is, our talisman now has a hamstring strain.

Bielsa revealed: "He didn’t have any problem with the previous injury, but after he feels something in the back of his leg. In the hamstring.”

How much do we miss Pablo?

Realistically, can Bielsa expect the 34yo (once better) to play every week?

Thousands left disappointed by missing out on Centenary shirt

Whilst the Centenary Shirt has had mixed reviews by the Leeds Utd faithful, there are thousands of disappointed and angry fans who missed out on purchasing a piece of history from their beloved club.

Many of these fans follow the Whites both home and away, sacrificing both hundreds of hours and thousands of pounds each season yet our short sighted Chairman has decided that the very people that keep the club ticking over do not deserve a piece of Leeds Utd history!

Radrizzani, in his wisdom decided to print just 1919 limited edition shirts, many of which were snapped up in bulk, and found their way onto Ebay for anything up to fifteen times its original value. Obviously the shirt was sold out in hours, leaving tens of thousands of fans both angry and disappointed!

If you drop a midfielder and have 2 strikers we'll be getting hammered.

Most opposing teams to date are out playing us in midfield, they're control it and building their attacks from it.

I think it was a bad move by Bielsa to move Dallas from RB where he was doing a good job.

We're missing both Pablo and Forshaw in the AM's, if we can hang in there, get rid of Bamford for Nikita then Nikita will get the balls he needs from Pablo and Forshaw.

Tyler Roberts like Harrison is too much of an individual, but not as much as Harrison. Roberts doesn't contain the foresight of Pablo, Forshaw or Saiz. Klich is also missing Pablo and Forshaw as he doesn't really have anyone near him to keep up with him and understand his passing.

Nikita should start, Dallas back to RB and Ayling benched. Ayling weakens the defence cos he too has a problem getting back after going to far forward.

KP needs replacing with a more experienced and adaptable CM. With teams out playing us in midfield, they're actually exposing KP as a mediocre CM.

Great result Saturday, poor performance. All usual failings. Sooner or later a couple of teams will string a few wins together and pull away like last season. We need to be one of them but as yet, don’t look capable of putting a run together. Maybe tomorrow will be start of something

I think teams will be too concerned about marking Nketiah and Bamford than running the midfield. We would need to use our wing backs to good effect.

Alioski would thrive in that environment.

Actually recent games Alioski has been one of our best players

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

We need to accept that at 34 Pablo is nearly over and maybe his next contract extension if we offer him one, will be to start to join the coaching staff. We cannot rely on him no more and last season proved it because he was out for as long as Bamford in reality and was over cooked for the play offs. Love the guy and been fantastic and still can be if used sparingly.

The striker issue will rumble on but Bielsa seems to know that Bamford does a job opening up defences, shielding the ball, roughing up CBs etc. First half on Saturday was a great performance in the first half and then Bamford swapped for the 2nd half and we were dire as Eddie doesn't do Bamford. I still believe we could Start both by leaving Harrison on the bench because Eddy could do a wing with Alioski covering for him when he raids into the box to snap up bits from Bamford or getting on the end of a Klich ball?

yes we are back in the top 2 and the same points as last season after 12 games. However we are averaging 1.9 points per match because of the games we sloppily lost. We must average over 2 points to achieve anything and we need to go on a long run of wins leading up to Xmas. We also need to be aware that Fulham have 3 of the best strikers in the league and will be very close to autos, Swansea, Forest, WBA will also be battling and 3 of those teams are also on parachute payments. Stoke are at last looking like sorting themselves out and again on parachute payments. Bielsa must be able to bring in a top striker if we havent sorted the goals out by Xmas otherwise we will fail again

Don't know much about football do you Eccers, you can't even see the big gaps in midfield at moment, and how teams are dominating the midfield.

Take a AM out and KP will be torn apart and left behind even more.

Now off to sleep with you, there's a good lad, you're yawning a lot......

It's the counters where opposing teams are taking control of the midfield.

Morning all, I'm back from another short sabbatical.

So the argument for dropping Bamford for Nketiah is where I'll start.
Ok, Bamford is struggling to score but his work rate is excellent and Saturday he led the line well and the team looked really good.
The swap at half time was really well received in the atten around me.
Now don't get me wrong I am desperate to see Nketiah do well but once he came on we put in a terrible performance.
I'm not blaming Nketiah personally but I feel the team were still playing to Bamfords strengths and theirfore we lost shape and attacking edge.
Birmingham looked to me like a team of big strong defenders. Bamford was holding his own against them with the balls that were coming in. Unless we played perfect balls to Nketiahs feet everytime, which we weren't, he was not going to get a sniff.

I just realised I probably have a lot to say so I'll do a few more posts I think.

I would love to see Bamford and Nketiah start together. I would put Nketiah up front with Bamford in behind on place of Klich.
Probably gonna get a few eyebrows raised at the idea of dropping Klich.
I said to my mate before the game I don't see what Klich is bringing to the side as much this season. During the game Saturday he admitted he could see what I meant.
My biggest fear with him is he could possibly going down the Jannson route and is loving being the South stands darling.
Ever since his goals chant started he seems to think he should shoot every time, even when there is a better pass on .
Also he looked tired Saturday. At points he was walking when he should have been running.
Maybe being an ever present has caught up with him.

Roberts looked good on Saturday when he came on.
To me, if we are carrying on with one up front which I'm sure we will, he is the one to replace Klich and play in the hole behind Bamford.
He may not be as good as Pablo or Saiz in that area but he is still very good and can be what we have been missing with Pablo injured.
We were trying to play wide Saturday with Costa and Harrison cutting in. To me this was because we didn't have that creative spark in the middle.

Well said Doc, as I said at the time Hernandez should have been rested for 3 weeks, prior to the play offs.

Been saying all season we needed to sign a classy and tough midfielder who can spot a pass.
