It seems that Derek Adams is 5/6 favourite to get the Leyton Orient job with bookmaker Paddy Power.

That would mean he would be down here in a couple of weeks.....Tues...Oct 22nd....how would he be received....especially if Orient won....:steam:.

I think badly whether Orient won or didn't. Lets face it he was hardly Mr Popular come the end was he.

Checking out Ryan Taylor for a possible hamstring injury....he can join Byron Moore and Dom Telford who also have hamstring injuries.

Bulgaria...0-6...England.....Argyle could have beaten this shower.

Unfortunately the football wasn't the story.....racial chanting even before the game started.....we were shown a group of 50/60 odd wearing black clothing chanting racist abuse....doing Nazi salutes.....making monkey chants and holding up a "no respect" T-shirt....there were less obvious chanting around the half full ground as well.....and areas already closed from a previous situation......I assume police where in the ground...but it wasn't obvious from the TV cameras.

One England fan died before the match from an incident....details not clear how.

FIFI will probably give Bulgaria a nominal fine and maybe make them play their next game behind closed doors.

Disgraceful scenes for sure but not unexpected given the venue. As the stadium was already operating with reduced capacity due to previous racism, I think the correct penalty would be to exclude Bulgaria from qualifying.......... for the next World Cup. They won't qualify for the Euros so kicking them out of that is no penalty. Like Plym I expect they'll get one of those swingeing €15,000 files EUFA seem to think are fearsome enough.

Great dignity and resolution shown by the England players and staff and a good performance football wise. I though Tyrone Mings was excellent and although it wasn't against the strongest opposition, I definitely think he deserves another go given the shambles the England defence has been recently.

€15,000 seems to be their value on racism....BUT awhile ago a player showed his underpants which advertised a betting firm and they fined him a huge total....I think it was well over €100,000.

Admittedly it was some years ago but England got banned from competitions altogether at club level etc for a number of years. This is the minimum that should happen now and to ALL of the Countries where this is so prevalent. It is no good bringing in rules if you then allow anyone to just stick fingers in the air at them and please themselves. This seems to be happening more and more in football. It happens at Argyle with the standing thing currently. The FA rule people should sit and because some don't like to be told what to do they ignore it. The fact that everyone could suffer for their bit of protest means nothing and they continually flaunt the rule and requests not to. Would they care if Home Park got closed down for half a season. Probably not with some. Europe especially is becoming more and more a place where right wing actions are happening. Do people never learn anything from history or do they just not care about that either. It is all part of the same problem for me.

It is part of the same problem: the rise of populists and demagogues. Trump, Johnson (née Farage), Erdogan, Orban and the rest of them,

Johnson, Farage are just filling the void left by the lack of quality leaders....what is the alternative....Corbyn, Swinton, etc....the SNP are no more than a local party...yet expect the whole of the UK to do their bidding....tail swinging the dog scenario....they could well lose a referendum in Scotland....probably more Scots than they think would prefer to stay in the union....a way of getting rid of Nicola Sturgeon hopefully who is the No1 populist.

Carl Fletcher is named as the new manager of ....Leyton Orient....I find that very strange there were other candidates with far more experience....we'll just have to see.

Orient are down here next Tuesday 22nd....that could be interesting.

He's had some good tuition since leaving here and going to Bournemouth. Have to say felt very sorry for him when he tried to manage us as he was on a hiding to nothing and had no real experience either. Hope he does well second time around.

Rumours going around that we're considering taking on free agent....Billy Clarke, 31 yr old, 5ft 7in Irish striker, played 399 games, scoring 77 goals.

Clarke has had the misfortune of having anterior cruciate injuries in BOTH legs during his career and he is keen to find a new club.

This does show how desperate Ryan Lowe must be getting to find a striker....seeing that keeping his present strikers fit seems a hard task.....Clarke is averaging roughly one goal every five games ?
