That non penalty for Watford is arguably the worst I've seen so far, how has var not given it ffs? Let's hope they don't go down by a point.
Thought the goal Wood had disallowed was scandalous too. The Watford one you’re right there’s no debate at all. However I’d like them to go down by a point.
Yeah I know you would And yeah the Wood one is bonkers too, fail to see how that's any more clear and obvious than all the penalties that haven't been given. So much for consistency eh.
Not surprisingly, perhaps, I think the Wood decision was correct ... Evans chests the ball and would volley clear if his heel doesn't get clipped ... not intentional on Woods part .... but it doesn't have to be. VAR didn't go in our favour at Anfield (which makes the Watford decision seem even dafter) but that's how it is currently...
Evans wouldn’t have got there with a ****ing moped though it shouldn’t influence the decision. The contact is negligible. It’s incredibly harsh to call that “clear and obvious”.
For me the issue with that one is it doesn't meet the ridiculously high clear and obvious criteria that they seem to have set for fouls. It's completely inconsistent with how it's been used in pretty much every game so far.
For me, the goal should have stood. No way was Evans getting there in time and the contact was both minimal and accidental. Deolofeu incident was a definite penalty. So you have the two extremes. What constitutes a clear and obvious error? Maybe one day they’ll tell us!?
Agree it’s the clear and obvious description and I would be pissed if that went against us. He has tripped him and for what it’s worth I think he’d have managed to clear it (not that anyone can be sure either way). Had the ref immediately given it and VAR confirmed it fine, given that the ref wasn’t going to rule it out I agree that it wasn’t obvious enough to overrule compared with other decisions. Not sure what is our biggest game changer, Vardy or VAR
