Maybe my dream of seeing Liverpool play in my hometown at Runcorn Linnets FC may come true when they're playing in the North West Counties Football League Premier Division. <ok> :D

Yep based on the money spent, they seem quite ordinary barring Suarez. And really why did he need to buy Adam when he had Meireles?

Jonas made Jose look better than he was. Don't get me wrong, he's a brilliant LB, but without a Jonas type winger he lacks that threat down the left.

On a serious note, where do you guys think you will finish by the end of the season? Considering your summer activity you are playing the opposite to what many would have expected. <ok>

Why do people think we did badly this summer? Replaced every player we lost except Carroll, and even then we brought in Ba. We're a better side than last season.

We had 1 man less for a lot of the game, plus 2 man less for a bit of it, what the **** did you expect from him?

OK well why do you think "King Kenny" put him on the wing and left Suarez as the lone striker?

We may not look as good going forward at the moment, but we're a lot tighter at the back. I'd rather win matches 1-0, 2-1 and pick up solid low scoring draws on the road than do what we did last season and let in stacks of stupid goals. When we add Ben Arfa to the mix, and Ba when fully fit, we'll offer more going forward. Right now I'd take a top-10 finish. That would represent steady progress. Looking at every team outside the regular top 6, there are numerous teams that could finish as high as 7th or down in 11th, 12th, 13th. We're in that mix so it's not out of the question, but as I said I'd take a top 10 finish and hopefully a good cup run or two. If we add a couple of decent signings in Jan then we can re-assess then.

Some phenomenon called : a performance?

You pay 35m for a centre forward who isn't even worth 35m and you don't even know how to use him.

    Nice.

Smudgers right, our summer activity was actually fantastic compared to most midtable clubs, despite what Mark Lawrenson doesn't know much about Yohan 'French International who did the French League and Cup Double last season' Cabaye. That said we will be finishing lower than we are at the moment, but I don't think top half is in any way beyond us given that we only bottled it last year on the last day. If Arsenal and a few other clubs continue to have poor seasons the Europa League isn't out of the question, especially if all the places go to the league this season.

Interestingly I can only see our performances improving, even if the results inevitably start levelling out.

No ****ing idea mate. I don't understand why we used a 4-4-2 formation in the first place against that Spurs midfield. It was bound to fail from the start. <ok>

Because Suarez has more pace to play on the counter attack, I would guess. People are forgetting that it actually worked from a defensive point of view, seeing as Spurs didn't score when we were down to 10, it was only when we had another red card that Spurs started scoring. I am as harsh as anyone on Carroll, but I don't see how he can be criticised for today's display at all. He had no service, so he did nothing. Hardly surprising.

Still, you have to wonder why Suarez and Carroll dont appear to work together. On paper it's a perfect match.
