We need what we’ve always needed, a creative midfielder.

We had some possession today we seldom know what to do with it.

£2.5 million for Maddison wouldn’t have been rich if we’d won 4 more games as a result.

My only updates for this match were via SAFC's twitter account so forgive me for asking but were we really bad today and were there any positives? Cheers

Scores and creates. Pays for himself if it gets us out of the league.

That attitude is missing. I know we’ve got to look at spending, but we also have to weigh up what not spending does long term.

Its looking difficult this season already. There’s no excuse for that.

The recruitment side is an absolute disgrace and has been for several years, bar when Sam was in and calling his own shots.

So how do we get to January, stay in touch with the top 2 with the squad we have?

Maguire as a 10? Free role for McGeady?

Some fecking pace too, sick of us fielding slow ass sides year after year. Such a weapon to have in your team, if I had to pinpoint one issue with the squad that's it.

    Same the crazy bastard :emoticon-0152-heart

He isn't suited to the premier league with the type of players that play there but for this league... he is perfect.

Our team isn't fit enough and the only time I've see our team the fittest has been under him and BSA the pansy premier league players didn't like actually having to bust a gut in training though and complained.

In this league they if they did complain tough **** really they will still be happy to be at a club like Sunderland... no player should complain about that anyway it's your job and your getting paid to be healthy suck it up and get on with it.

Fitness and ability with a bit of tactics will make you storm this league

Aye fair comment. Defo more wing back than full back.

Should be no.1 priority in January hit the release clause and get him here as I'm sure he would jump at the chance.

They literally offered us Maddison, and said ‘£2.5’.

We didn’t even negotiate, Darragh McAnthonys words ‘they said he’s not one they are looking at’.

We weren’t looking at the most creative player in the league. Sunderland fan. Dreams of playing for us.

    Mind boggles.

We are, but you find a ****ing way don’t you?

Promotion gives you your money back, staying down drains more.

Football economics. £2.5million wasn’t sending us to the wall.
