    I don't imagine that, as a customer, it's your responsibility to check that the Pub Licensee is obeying the law.

    By the same token, if they were flogging spirits where the duty hadn't been paid, it wouldn't be the customer who was drinking it who would be prosecuted, it would be the licensee.
