He's not a con man imo. He's made millions building up his own insurance company and I'm canny certain he'd know of a few better ways than buying a football club to get a few shady million on the side. There's also been due diligence done on the club's books recently* and I'm fairly certain any type of fraud theft stealy money type **** would have been spotted. As for the running of the club, well..I wouldn't have a clue how to do it or where to start, especially with one that was in the Third Division for only the second time in it's history with a mainly bunch of mecenary bastards on the payroll and running costs far exceeding it's income. Thankfully, all I need to do is support the team on the pitch and hope for the win. I can't control any of the other **** and I'm not going to stress about it, I get enough of that watching us play.

*Obviously, I don't know this as a fact but it was mentioned from a few different sources so I'm fairly confident this particular rumour was true.

Due diligence doesn't mean anything, sadly. (I rephrased this sorry if it came off as a bit patronising first time round)

The DD may or may not have revealed things they didn't like, but they aren't there to assess anything except the financial situation for the buying party. They wouldn't report Donald to anyone, even if he had done something illegal, which he hasn't. They certainly wouldn't say anything to fans even if they'd found something they were uncomfortable with, or even felt fans should know.

Their only obligation is to give the prospective buyers an accurate picture of the club's assets, liabilities, and a financial projection based on that.

In comparison with most people he is very well off. In terms of football ownership he is small fish. I suspect he 8s seeing a multi million pay off looming if he plays his cards right. He is alleged to be worth less than 10m st best. If this pay day comes to fruition I would suspect he will triple his worth at least.
Best of luck to him but please let's not make him to be some mother Theresa in a pin stripe habit

Do you reckon that most of the people slinging the abuse about are young uns? (Don't wish to offend anyone on here like). Not they I know anyones age. But I would like to think the older posters are generally are a bit more composed

Could be barking up wrong tree mind!

I think that there's a cross section of all ages who have lost their grip on reality.

I didn’t mean on here. It’s more Twitter to be honest with a little bit of RTG thrown in

Cheers, that what I thought Janey. The poster I was replying to had got the wrong end of the stick from your post.

I see that you've seen and replied to that post now.

That was me and although I did get the wrong end of the stick from Janey's post I would still say that this site has had a fair increase in the negativity and bile since I joined - all of 2 weeks ago from RTG!! Perhaps it's me causing it!!

There has been people lurking in the shadows waiting for their opportunity to pounce .1st hint at this takeover not going through and they pounced .
We all know where it’s coming from and I hope Chas and Donald go after them .

The only strange thing I've noticed, not that I'm saying you did as genuinely don't remember specifics of who posted what apart from one or two, is that some appeared to join up to here with the express purpose of trying to start back up arguments that they were having on rtg.

It does appear to me that someone or some people have an organised agenda against SD and to an extent the club.

For every good bit of news that appears, be it a rumour or fact there are 5 or 6 negative rumours that appear straight after and seem to gain traction quicker.

The appointment of Parkinson was a good example, he wasn't moats first choice, but I the 2 press conferences I and many others have seen, he has spoken very well and with a great deal of sense, yet I have read various threads (not on here) saying with huge convusrion he is wrong, it's a cheap appointment etc etc

The things said yesterday about Tony D leaving his role were an absolute disgrace and to leave threads on nearly all day while the accusations got worse and worse was bizarre to say the least

To be an honest I have never encountered a new manager conference where the manager came across other than polite, determined, complimentary etc etc.
Saying all the right things is par for the course and more often than not tightly scripted by the pr dept.
By the way parkinson strikes me as a nice bloke but determined. I will keep an open mind but admit to not being impressed by the appt as is the case with quite a few others if the social media polls are anything to go by. Not his fault he was chosen so he has to be given a go In all fairness.
As for the comments re TD. In the most part they are pretty sickening whether accurate or otherwise. Pessimism and a potty mouth are a heady combination and sadly we have our fair share of them
