OK I know this has probably been said numerous times on here on various threads but what a player we have here.(taking nothing away from the rest of the team who are equally as good)

When we got promoted I thought it would be curtains for him and that his best days were behind him...How wrong I was, the guy doesn't stop running, rarely misplaces a pass and when he does he'll chase the opposition down and win it back. The passion he still shows even at his age is unbelievable.

Him and Ale Faurlin are influential behind the midfield. And, I for one cannot wait to see him up against United, Chelsea etc they will not like playing against him one bit.

Agreed how many times on the edge of our box do opponents go to take a shot and Derry gets in their and tackles them or blocks it

Incredible to think that he was only signed as a squad player last season

Got to be the best free signing QPR have ever made . Everyone thought what a waste of time a year ago when he signed but what a revelation . The tackling and ball winning were what i expected but not the excellent passing and great football vision . Hope he can go on for a few more seasons.

And when he signed a contract extension in august....but it feels great to be proven wrong. Too many prima donnas now in the PL who don't want to do the dirty work....Shaun is the reason we'll have a decent season.

I remember a Palace fan saying on the old 606 that his legs were gone and he'd struggle to see the season out!!!!

    Totaly agree.

Do you think NW made him take extra Heading practice last week ? When was the last time he score (did i hear 5 years)? Not only doing a Great job as a holding player but also showing up front, only time before he put ones away as well, impressive.

Blinding header yesterday. Had goal written all over it. Age 33 and Shaun's not only a prem player at last, he's improved his fitness, adding weapons to his arsenal and lining himself up for a bit of punditary later on!

    What a star.

You could be on to something there Swords... Peter and Pete... Heston and Ramsgate virtually the same place. A bit like Dublin and Galway!

Don't be flippant Brixton. I meant their comments tend to be quite similar to one another. I'm guessing its the same person.
