23,000 season tickets though. I’ll be gobsmacked if ‘occasional’ fans don’t vote with their feet.

Well I'll certainly be voting with my feet . . . . even if I have some sort of mishap between now and next tuesday I'll still be at The Stadium to see The Lads beat the Trannies, no matter who the manager is :emoticon-0148-yes:

    I've had the same attitude for decades . . . . if there's a game on I'll be there, 'cos I support S.A.F.C. and I'm a fan (there's a difference between the two) :emoticon-0105-wink:

Phil. Parkinson, though not many (or any) peoples' first choice, might be just what we need, and I'll be 100% behind him :emoticon-0100-smile

The one thing I do agree with is we will still be with the club long after Parkinson or Donald are just mere statistics. I've been quite open about my disappointment at Parkinson even been considered for this role, but it looks like a done deal and he will get my full backing and I wish him all the best. If all those (and that does include me) who have been beating their chests about what a bad appointment this is, used that energy to support the club, maybe we might get out of this god forsaken division, which lets face it, is much more important that who actually gets us out.

Cannot see the logic in sacking Ross to replace him with Phil Parkinson.

Bit of a token gesture, rashly taken imo., the league table will soon tell us if the decision was right or wrong. OaU

@rossgregory9 Understand James Fowler's contract was sorted last night and he has left #safc. Suggestion is that Potter and Samson may stay on as part of new manager's backroom staff

Despite what some may say I have no wish to mislead anyone.

As I'm posting to Sunderland supporters, on a Sunderland forum, I'd have hoped that any good news would be received with a wish for it to be correct rather than with derision and, sadly, outright hatred. It says more about the people attacking me, than myself, but it's disappointing nonetheless.

If I'd been posting relentlessly negative stories I could understand it. That would obviously align me with the little gang of pro-miseries but I'd rather pass tbh.

Which brings me to the point. I don't want to raise the hopes of decent people but I believe the Americans are still 'around' and interested in the club.

Believe it or not but please don't ask me for a statement from Mr Dell, I don't have one and wouldn't post it if I did. I just happen to have fallen, arse backwards, into the employment of a succession of multi-millionaires.

They're incredibly wealthy but human, like us all, and gossip like us all. It just happens that their gossip is about people on their level, not about who squeezed who's tits round the back of the Dog & Duck.

Just watched all of Bolton's 17/18 goals and thought I do a tally of the style:
    high cross/corner ///////////////
    hoof it/direct /////
    pen /////
    free kick/long range //
    good footy ///////////
    scrappy/error //////
    Nothing like that... yet!

All I can say is that, compared to Ross, he has success in England at this level ....

.... and the club won't overwhelm him.

He's been promoted and taken a team to Wembley.

Who knows, we can only look at the short term and that starts at Wycombe.

Let's hope for a proud performance, decent football and a win to give us all hope.

Anyone who doesn't want that has my sympathy.
