Irritates the hell out of me. But he reckons we will be fine so he can't be that bad.

Lets face it all the BBC pundits with the exception of Dixon, Rosenior and Keown are a waste of space. The BBC needs to get rid of people like Hansen, Crooks and Lawrenson who haven't played the game for years and get players who have actually played football in the last two decades.

However I am finding it amusing that once again Lawrenson (expert) has been hammered by a celebrity in his predictions.

Rosenior was brilliant last year. Don't know why they didn't give him a permanent spot on the Football League show.

He is a tool of enormous proportions and always has been.
I agree that Dixon does seem to genuinely review and analyse each game, not just trot out cliches.

There's some quality in that interview. <laugh>

"Training Diet: High-fibre bread, long drinks, bananas... and more bananas
Favourite Relaxation: Listening to the Flying Pickets
    "

"David will be making his dwarf-throwing competition debut in the Test Series and is certain to lean on the experience of his partner after his wife withdrew as training partner"

"Favourite Relaxation: Mixing with the high society of the dwarf throwing circuit"

"Wee Robbie rocketed to stardom last year during the first season of dwarf throwing. He quickly threw off the legacy of having played Bashful for 9 years in stage productions of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves... Robbie believes his home ground advantage in Brisbane could be the key to the series"

Garth Crooks is indeed the worst pundit of anything I have ever seen in my life - surely that's all an act the way he behaves isn't it? Surely he's not like that in everyday life - he must drive his missus clean up the wall every time they sit down for dinner!

That said he's pretty harmless and I can't say I could ever bring myself to hate the little twerp. Lawro and Shearer get both barrels though, HATE both of those bastards with a passion. Lawro is just an arrigant, irritating dinosaur **** who talks out of his arse and has a face like a bulldog licking piss off a nettle and I lost any smidgen of respect I ever had for Shearer when he turned his back on England at the age of 30 because he couldn't stand the prospect of not being the #1 glory boy after the emergence of Owen and Rooney so instead decided to concentrate on steering Newcastle United to the heady heights of 12th place finishes. We really needed him during the 2002 World Cup as well but he wasn't interested so ever since then I've thought **** the horrible ****!

Lawro is fantastically negative, whenever England play and he does the live commentary i secretly hope we play badly just so he can go into one ....... He needs a blowjob or some PROZAK............ Plus all scousers think they re funny........Prize prick, the only good pundit is Dixon for me

Wow, there is a lot of anger floating around this thread - with all the expletives etc., it's beginning to look more like the comments to a youtube video than a harmless thread on football pundits.

I do, however, agree that Lawrenson is annoying (anyone still remember when he predicted us to get relegated the year we won League One?), and Shearer is excruciatingly boring, but does talk some sense.

Match of the Day 2 is much, much better. The BBC actually attempt comedy, unlike the original MOTD. Goodness knows why they haven't put Murray, Dixon and co. on a Saturday night yet. The fact that they persist with MOTD 1 on a Saturday shows how out of touch the BBC are with the average football fan these days.

Jeff Stelling and co. on Sky's Soccer Saturday used to be good - the pundits actually had a laugh...

I kicked it off so to speak. They are horrific in comparison with the Sky Crowd I'm not a fan of Merson and Neville but rather see them then likes of Lawrenson, Hanson, Shearer, Crooks, Keown, Lineker and co. Whilst we're at I'm going to have a pop at that senile old relic Motson, I've understood the hype he sounds confused most of the time he makes Windass seem understandable.

For once Guru I agree with you she is bang tidy but would he pull that if he was a milkman?

As much as I can see why people don't like Shearer I have always respected the fact that he couldn't bring himself to playing for Man Ure. I would have loved to have seen Fergie's reaction when he realised he would not sign for them!!! Quality.

I think Motty is alright. I could never stand Barry Bloody Boring Davies. He used to drive me around the bend with his inane comments - twat.

I've gotta agreee with the majority on here though - lotta love for MOTD2. Far better punditry, more relaxed atmosphere, makes for better entertainment
