We need to get OUT of this habit, just because that most teams do If we are losin at half time we should be makin subs then,or at most 10 mins into the 2nd half, not waitin until its too late
I thought we made the subs too late, we also needed Flanagan on the bench and had no back up when Skrtel v Bale went wrong.
Flanagan should have started, he may be young but at least he's a fullback. I'd rather have a young lad like Flano who is trained and plays that position than a player who just looks uncomfortable there because its not his position. Also if I had seen Bale on the team sheet knowing he was going to be running at the RB, I would have picked someone who would be able to keep up with him and force him into the channels, something that Skrtel just cant do.
Agree with the OP, I also don't like this style of waiting 'til the 60 mins, in other words when it goes from bad to worse. There is no timer for when we need to make subs, we need to make them when the time is right.
Too right, Day! Been going on since Rafa's day at least, never worked then, doesn't work now! Why is it still going on?
Today there should have been a sub after about 20 minutes. Adam, already booked at this point and struggling, should have come off for Spearing. It just doesn't seem to be the 'done thing' though, these early subs, although Owen Coyle made an early change against us. We waited until we were forced into the subs today, rather than making them because we wanted to, which is never a good thing.
