Whether Parkinson is official or not, it seems fairly clear that it is between him and Ainsworth. From day one, these two were far and away the least inspiring and least popular options of all the potential candidates. I'm starting to wonder if Stewart is intentionally just trying to piss the fans off now, to be honest.
Unless Barnsley were somehow able to claim that Stendel left to get the Sunderland job, it's unlikely compensation will be paid as Stendel quit off his own back and likely waived loyalty clauses etc.
What a ****ing circus this place (or any other safc message board/social media site) has become. I mean, some random bloke on a forum comes in and says "parkinson has taken training" with bugger all to back it up, and fans go into a melt down, and all the blame is aimed at the owner, who has shown no sign of having anything but good intentions since he came in. He's steadied the club, and is trying to rebuild. He has never claimed to have the money needed to take us far, but now all kinds of baseless conspiracy are being thrown around. FFS, I look at Donald trump and his tweets and ppl actually believeing anything **** he spouts and wonder how the hell that ever happened; then I look at anything SAFC related atm (twitter, media reports, fan reactions) and realise " **** that's how it happens"
We are not used to this much activity. The takeover thread has proper mashed me up. This ones going the same way. I cant keep up.
I dont accept that for one minute. Claim and counterclaim there may be but the responses are predominantly well considered, mature and without the rancor from over the road. People have views. Others 'throw things out there' etc but by and large this place is light years ahead in terms of civility and discourse
Well further up this page someone posted "I'm starting to wonder if Stewart is intentionally just trying to piss the fans off now, to be honest.". Which of your categories does that fall into? I do agree it's not as bad as RTG but it was so refreshing to find somewhere much more rational that I don't want to see it deteriorate
Brexit, New Manager or Takeover/Investment I wonder which one will be finalised first... And can a bet be placed? All these possibilities could drive you and a forum mad, could they?
It's certainly Parkinson and has been at the club today to take training and meet the squad. No indication what's happening with Fowler and that, I'd assume they're going/gone. Steve Parkin has joined up with Parkinson as his assistant manager. The media suggesting it's a two horse race between Ainsworth (who I wanted) and Parkinson are massively wrong. Parkinson has it on what I was told, a short real deal which I'm assuming is until the season ends.
