Simple solution - chuck that backward, third world country out of the tournament today. it’s not just the Bulgarian fans - their manager and their media are racism deniers as well.
Bulgaria gets €1.5billion net from the EU (in 2017) … that's obviously money well spent. Perhaps they could afford to buy their football coach a hearing aid.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-50041579 OneCoin is a Bulgarian Company.. I hope nobody has any as this is clearly a scam.
I witnessed a quite horrendous, Bulgarian related sight last Saturday. I was on the top deck of a No.6 bus, on the way to Edgware Road to dine with Mrs Royston. The bus pulled up at Marble Arch, and a Bulgarian woman emerged from a tent, pulled down her tracksuit bottoms, and in full view of everyone, began a process of defecation. My Iraqi lamb cutlets were not quite as enjoyable as a result ...
Presumably she was from Extinction Rebellion if she came out of a tent at Marble Arch? Lucky you didn't order Cumberland sausage.
To still have this level of racism in football and in life is sickening and disgusting. I thought Gareth Southgate handled it brilliantly. I also noted the irony of the perpetrator's of the monkey noises/ racist abuse were dressed in black.
and Bulgaria have co-opted a Brazilian born black player ...who played for them last night. That guy must be examining his conscience today.
He said after the game that this was the first time they had a problem with racism, yet, didn't they have part of the stadium closed because of racist chanting in a previous game? … and don't their club sides have problems with racism from the terraces?
this is the main reason why I am so desperate to get Brexit delivered. As a country, we have nothing in common with these barbarians.
Judging other cultures by our own standards is seldom helpful. Eastern Europe and the UK have had almost nothing in common for maybe a century now. Their experience, expecially since WW2, has been very different from ours. Perhaps we as a nation should decide whether we still want sporting ties with other countries where racism and religious / gender based intolerance is far worse than we now regard as acceptable here. In three years' time the World Cup Finals will be held in a country where it is currently illegal to be gay or transgender, and practically illegal to be a Jew. Additional to which, women are clearly not treated with anything like equality to men in the eyes of the law. I doubt very much whether those things will change between now and 2022. Will the England football team be travelling to Qatar to participate? Qualifiers allowing, I expect so.
No country can feel complacent. Black sportsmen have been subjected to racist abuse in New Zealand, and at top English football grounds recently.. The problem is far from over, and black sportsmen don't stand for it any more, unlike the 70's or 80's when they tried to ignore it.
