My £40 bet (£10+£30 free) @50/1 paying £2,000 for him to be the next manager to leave his post woulda been canny based on a daft rumour Shame Watford sacked Javi Gracia a few days later as it would still be live though I reckon Silva is going to be next
Reading that, it has to be Stendel. Cook seems a good choice as well but I liked the way he had Barnsley playing last season and they scored a fair few goals as well.
Pearson is the latest flavour of the month with the bookies Down to 3/1 from nowhere tonight. Bookies must love social media
I wouldn’t look into it too much as the echo no **** all, they’ll be names coming and going as favourites until SD says so
Don't really fancy him mainly because his recent record since leicester is pretty ****e But if they have offered him it so early suspect it may be because Philips will be coming with him That would be interesting
Hasn't Phillips said he's only looking for a manager's job these days and doesn't want to be a number 2/coach or is that just hearsay?
Said this on the other thread but maybe we could do with an arsehole in charge. Having nice fellas who mean well doesn't seem to work for us but look at the effect that Keane had.
I believe he did say that but Pearson making noises about bringing him in https://www.shieldsgazette.com/spor...s-sunderland-he-eyes-managerial-return-809367
No, he said last night he wants the job and has applied but in addition he'd talked with someone about being their No. 2. He didn't name Pearson but said the conversation happened on Thursday night and they were at a dinner together.
The bookies and media are like a glutton at a buffet with this manager malarkey. 'Oh so and so is being interviewed, therefore he is favourite. One day its ainsworth Next day it is Parkinson Then its cook. Problem is we mere mortals give these sources far too much oxygen by providing clicks
Yes for a couple of games. Then reality would settle in. Keane is the football manager equivalent of an impulse shopper. He's a likeable version of redknapp. Once the money dries up so do his ideas and managerial acumen. I dont know how often we have to say this but once short started to make keane accountable for his spending and ask him to justify it he ran a mile. He left an awful mess behind that bruce had to tidy up. A bloated squad full of crap overpaid players on long contracts. Not saying bruce made a fantastic job of it but short had to write of 60m + of debt after keane and the rest of drumaville did one. He left a mess at Ipswich too. I reckon for any club above div 1 he is on the nose. He seems contemptuous of anyone who hasnt played at a high level and wont accept criticism or accountability. Re philipps..why has he been out of work so long. If he is ambitious etc why hasnt he tried at a lower level club here or overseas? Even pep ( a cl winner ) went to a Mexican lower league team at the start of his managerial journey. Is this hard yakka too much for skp to consider? Some fans seem to think the abilities a person had as a player will magically appear when they are a manager. They invariably dont. Just like some people believe nigel clough would be a good manager for us because of who his dad was. It's romanticized bilge
Totally agree with you about clough nothing about him gets me gan Probably a safe pair of hands out of the lot of them but that's not what we need at this present time Other people are mentioning Ian Holloway I'd honestly hand my season card in if he became our manager
