Mr ban Gerwen wants me to post more about the football, instead of my usual offbeat stuff.

Reading what the darts player is posting perhaps he should follow my line. This past 24 hours he has posted more rubbish than I do, by a mile.

I demand a public apology from @Royston Vasey

Rick Everitt's knowledge of Charlton is very evident this morning.

    I agree with @Clb74 <ok>

The Club's real enemies are the Belgian and people like Seedless, NOT people like Rick.

Since CARD declared their intention to take unspecified action against Douchatelet they have disappeared. Why? I'd like to hear it from the horse's mouth.

I think it is possible that the President has out manoeuvred them <yikes> ...

It seems to me that Polish Dick has had a word with the Belgian and told him that his most successful period as Chairman of Charlton was when he let Curbs run the Club and that he sees Bow as a modern day equivalent to Curbs.... looks to me that the Turkey has gone and that Bow is calling the shots, Steve Gallen as Director of Football is the first clear example of this. I can't imagine that SG isn't talking to BowJackson about longer contracts.

Yes, the President has given Bow a budget to work within but I just can't imagine us signing (at this stage of the season) a player like Mathews in previous campaigns!

From what I've gathered (which isn't much) it may be that Steve Gallen's elevation to the board is little more than window-dressing.

I don't think he has actually been made Director of anything (as in Director of Football) though I may be wrong.
As far as I know he's still effectively head of recruitment, and is not in a position to award Bowyer a new or better contract. Though SG is now a director he isn't LB's direct superior.

It's a cute move by RD, but I'm not overly bothered by that.
It suddenly occurred to me the other day that Lee Bowyer is being even smarter than I thought he was, and is actually playing the owner in order to get what most of us want - a real chance at promotion to the Premier League.

It sits much better with me to believe that Charlton Athletic with LB in charge is using Roland Duchatelet, rather than the other way round.
Indeed it pretty much replaces my long term but fruitless wish that RD goes away, with a sense of wanting to see how much more of his money LB can winkle out of him.
Rather than an evil panto villain, I'm now seeing Roland as a big fat piggy bank with a very tricky lock.
Previous managers & coaches (including Chris Powell) could not pick the lock and get at the shiny pennies inside. But Lee Bowyer just might have found a way to make the piggy pay out.

    PS:

Of course the new CEO said to be coming in might put a spanner in the works if they are another RD stooge.
But we'll just have to wait and see who it is.

I am not sure that Steve Gallen would accept a Directorship as window dressing and with the Turkey going AWOL the President needs someone at Charlton to make decisions as he only gives 2% of his time to Charlton and I'm sure that Murray is too sick to take an active role.
I agree that SG was not given a Director's title but Director of Football seems the most appropriate to me.

FFS ...Swampy has his hands on the levers of power at Thanet Council.
Watch out for a big swing away from Labour at the election.

Talking of Swampy, I see the old green activist died of heart failure this week.

He refused to have a bypass.
