"Extinction Rebellion is a reactionary, regressive and elitist movement whose aim is to impose the most disturbing form of austerity imaginable on people across the world. One of the great ironies of ‘progressive’ politics today is that people of a leftist persuasion will say it is borderline fascism if the Tory government closes down a library in Wolverhampton, but then they will cheer this eco-death cult when it demands a virtual halt to economic growth with not a single thought for the devastating, immiserating and outright lethal impact such a course of action would have on the working and struggling peoples of the world."

Extinction Rebellion is the spawn of another group of anarchists - Rising Up. This climate change nonsense is nothing more than a ploy designed to draw in the gullible millennials that haven't already been mugged off into joining momentum.

Shoot the lot in the bollocks and be done with it. <cheers>

    Could be.

I expect the vast majority there just want to do a little bit that’s in their power to help improve the world for your grandchildren though.

    But yeah, Labour.

The vast majority there are millennial sheep jumping onto the latest bandwagon. They are being played and they don't even know it.

A lot of the protestors aren't millennials. A 91 year old man was arrested the other day. I saw a protestor guy in his 70s being interviewed on the news yesterday. What's in it for the people who lead these protests? They don't profit from them. It's not like they charge for a ticket to attend them or they have to pay a non refundable fee that doesn't actually guarantee that they will be allowed to take part...

I completely get why people like Trump want to deny climate change as he gets a fortune from people and companies that are accused of damaging the environment but I don't think scientists devote their lives to providing data supporting climate change just to draw in "millennials" (of all ages).

I have been taught to ignore the oldies as their opinions don't count because they'll all be dead before too long.

The only question you posed was this:

"What's in it for the people who lead these protests?"

It isn't the 2 old boys you picked out that are contriving these protests.

We all win a little bit if the world doesn’t get irreversibly damaged. You’ll have a hard time painting those against this as the anti-establishment option but I believe in you.
