Watched Joker, wow some brave arse decisions went into the making of that film. I don't think I can watch any happy marvel movies anymore!
As a lumberjack, I know that I’ve cut exactly 2,417 trees. I know because every time I cut one, I keep a log.
I can't believe I was arrested for impersonating a politician..... I was just sitting there doing nothing.
If you see it on the menu I would suggest that it has shark fin in it. Is it worth taking the chance on something so barbaric anyhow?
They all laughed when I told them that one day I would discover the secrets of invisibility. If only they could see me now.
Here's a Bob Monkhouse written joke: All my friends laughed at me when I told them I was going to become a comedian. They're not laughing now.
I bought myself a Blur alarm clock so I always wake up to the sound of Park Life, except on Wednesdays when I get rudely awoken by the dustmen.
Also from Bob Monkhouse Through out my long career I've always been amazed about how many people knew that I'm from Kent. I can hear them whisper it when I walk past
Today, The Guardian reveals the 20 most active companies in the world contributing towards carbon emissions, and hence Human Induced Climate Change [HICC]. Bear in mind that these companies have between them contributed one third of the overall total of carbon in the atmosphere since 1965. Read the article for details: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2019/oct/09/revealed-20-firms-third-carbon-emissions Also bear in mind that these companies have known the consequences of their business for decades.
No real surprises there, and I suspect the sum total of ****s they collectively give is close to zero.
Indeed, no real surprises if one keeps abreast of these things. I would suggest that most people don't.
Notable that when Bob Monkhouse decided to stop performing full time his humour got darker. I remember seeing him perform some of his stuff during a documentary about him and although it was really sharply observed stuff he'd written, and normally very funny, I couldn't laugh because it was so odd seeing him come out with such dark humour.
I've always respected the programmes that Simon Reeve presents. He's a modern traveller who just explores areas that are less than familiar to us. Sometimes he gets into being a proper explorer, going into places where it's rare for human beings, sometimes just on the streets of remote places. In this first programme of The Americas with Simon Reeve, he takes watchers to areas of jaw dropping beauty and some places where you just want to cover your eyes, and don't want to believe what is happening. Basically, he's doing it again, as he always does: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m00095nt/the-americas-with-simon-reeve-series-1-episode-1
