Ireland were starting from a very low base after the financial crisis. You'll notice Greece is also flying the flag even though they are a toilet case.
Obviously the top performers are freaks. Libya was top in 2017 but Us, Germany and France are always well down the list.
As you look down you see India, large parts of Africa, the Philippines, China along with large parts of Asia growing at a good level whereas the pillars of the EU plod along. We're not going anywhere very fast and the world is passing us by.
We need to get out there and untangle ourselves from this rotting carcass while we still can.

The majority of the free world does not do the majority of its trade under WTO rules.

We are the 5th richest country in the world

The 4th is Germany (so In Europe has the access to biggest free trade market in the world and access to 50 other trade deals which the EU has made)

3rd Japan - (has trade deals with about 40 countries)

2nd China (has bilateral investment agreements with over 100 countries and 16 FTAs)

    1st USA (has fTA’s with 20 countries)

Which of the countries should we be trying to emulate and why are they not trying to do more trade under WTO rules?

Millennium bug didn’t become doomsday because a lot of people did a lot of work. But I agree with you in terms of Roll on 1 November because nothing is going to happen.

For once you are correct, so long as you "get ready for Brexit" you will still be able to travel in Europe with the correct documentation, as the UK will still be part of the continent known as Europe, just not giving the bent ****s in Brussels billions for the pleasure

Well I’m ready for it as **** all’s going to change anyway in people’s day to day lives.

Apart from a few hysterical drama queens might have to go without an avocado or two for a couple of weeks.

So growth might not be the best comparison but we should leave the EU because we’re not doing well in terms of growth?

How do you work out food is cheaper, it's way dearer due to EU tarrifs to support french farmers. <doh> so bullshit
We had paid holidays way before the EU, So bullshit on that one.
Travels not cheaper, flights to non EU, eg USA is much cheaper per km, so more bullshit. ;)

11% of our food comes from non EU countries (and not all of that is subject to tariffs) 41% of our food would be subject to tariffs after leaving the EU unless we decide not to impose tariffs and ruin our own agriculture in the process.

You might have had paid holidays but not everyone did and it’s wasn’t a right -
The EU Working Time Directive stipulating four weeks’ annual leave was agreed on 23 November 1993, with the United Kingdom abstaining from the vote. The UK government did not implement a general statutory right to paid annual leave but continued to leave it to individual and collective bargaining in the workplace. However, on 1st October 1998, the Labour government in the UK implemented the EU Working Time Regulations granting workers 4 week’s annual leave.

So you're saying you're making up lies about the food as you have no idea what any deal will/would be.
And there's plenty that don't get holidays still, not worth the paper it's written on TBH.
Flights is competition, which there will still be, so no different.Flights doubled in the EU last 2 weeks, so if low prices is the EUs credit,so is the highest overnight increase ever. Much dearer than the USA.

Ps your link to buy the Washington Post, didn't help your argument unless you're on commission.

So, Joe Swinson's husband received £4m from the EU and money from George Soros, no wonder the traitorous slag wants to stop Brexit

I can see all these things making a great deal of difference to your life, dbc. <confused> If you believe they do then you must lead a pretty dismal life. Personally, I could do without all those things and still be very happy.

Well you’re a Millwall fan who lives in Australia. On both counts your chances of interacting with Europe on a regular basis are very small.

However it’s the 21st century and I live 90 miles from France. It’s quicker for me to get to Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam than it is to get to Newcastle. If you started putting trade barriers and other restrictions between Brisbane and Melbourne and Sydney etc then it would start to effect your life.

As I said they were examples of tangible day to day benefits. A lot of what any government or organisation do is the non-glamorous, small, boring things that improve not make your life. Good bin collections are the classic example of what voters want from a government. I’m sure you could be very happy with out them but still want them.

One of the EU’s greatest strengths is that it is very boring and it does very boring things very well. So I could post a 1250 page trade deal that the EU has negotiated or the various regulations on environment standards or building standards or child toy safety they have implemented and you could say they are dismal and that you would be very happy with out them but they all add up and make lots of lives better. No ones going to spend their dying breath thinking sod the family and loved ones, thank god for Directive 92/58/EEC but a lot more people will have got to spend more time doing the non-dismal stuff because of things like that.
