Mid field Id be tempted to leave O/9 in there with Power, Hume Dobson maybe. Subbing those who look like fish out of water at half time, its not so much a plan, but we are in a crisis situation imo. and sometimes it takes a crisis to trigger change.

Mumba is looking dire at full back in the youth team atm. but still being picked for England as a midfield player, I rate the lad, but the numbskulls now in charge think they are expanding his development, this kid was MoM in the first team two years ago, you have to think someone is getting it wrong somewhere.

Hard to disagree, the reports I have read have said he is struggling at full back. Lords knows why or who has thought he would be better playing there.

I put him at right back, as despite the above we seem intent of playing him there

    I understand it’s England that think he’s a fullback

Hopefully those who harbour that intent will leave before he does. I would play him in midfield to night for half a game at least, he is our most natural player in that position, Robson and Hume also fit in along with O/9, Dobson and Embleton these are the only players I can see having any future at Sunderland, the rest are surplus to requirements and should be replaced asap imo.

Aye I could see O'Nien, Hume and Dobson playing, Luke is just getting used to his role and the others need game time. I wouldn't play Power maybe go with Sammut and have a look.

Forgot we had Sammut tbh and Power was out of a lack of any alternatives but we need quicker direct players with a bit of physicality in the engine room and the others do not pass muster imo.

I thought I had read on rtg that it was the coaches here. You would like to think if it was England that they would be talking to the club about it?

I can understand the club trying him there as we've only got McLaughlin for the position and O'Nien was able to fill in, added to which the number of CMs we have.

If he's crap there then I don't know why they're persevering, he can go on loan as a CM instead.

Lets be honest our coaches do like a player playing out of position :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I've seen worse for that like, I remember Coleman putting out comedy sides regularly. Apart from O'Nien filling in at RB I can't think of many others playing out of position.

Doesn't help that our squad is uneven, loads of CMs and other positions we've got hardly anyone.

Be really interesting to see how that team would perform. Wish I could go!

Probably our info came from different posters on the same source so equally reliable!

Have to agree with this. Shifting four fullbacks and signing two always seemed shortsighted

Just a reminder that there is a game on tonight, I wonder what team James Fowler will put out.

This'll be the same Fowler who was supposedly out the door and back in Scotland last week, was one of the reasons our players aren't fit enough to see games through but is now in temp. charge.
We've gone from promotion favourites to this mess in less than three months, typical Sunderland.

We need to crash out of this ****er if we want promotion. Things can't get any more embrarrasing so let's just nip this **** in the bud now.

It was a serious question Cumbria, and I noticed this thread was about 10th in the table so I thought why not. I have no faith in any of the backroom staff at SAFC tbh but I am interested to see if there will be any change in approach now that Jack has gone. So lets see what happens and hope that things can only get better.

General agreement with you but not sure tonight will be indicative due to likely team changes. It'll be a while before we see if "anybody's better than Jack Ross"

Not expecting much tbh. its a shame that JR did not come up to expactations, but changes are needed. Im listening to a row now on the radio between Benno and marco getting heated, dont want any of that on here. <ok>
