I'd rather have decent refs, pundits that don't wear their old team's shirts to work and results that depend on what the players do.
VAR has actually made things worse in this country, somehow. It's ridiculous.

It's even worse when they wear their old shirts in ads for phone shops

...especially when they don't wear a white shirt at any point

That's never going to happen realistically with pundits as that's mainly why they are pundits due to being ex players, someone suggested European refs which I think could be a decent idea, and maybe draw the refs for each game like a fa cup draw of some kind.

VAR is pants under its current form, basically useless.

Imo you could do away with var all together and hand out retrospective match bans to divers and players conning the refs, or violent conduct or whatever, a VAR or panel to review each game and act within a small time frame.

It's too much to go into all the intricate details but I think you'll know where I'm going with it.

Except that in the Sheffield Utd game, he was fouled in the area, went down and got straight up again and no penalty was awarded. The pundits were in agreement it was a nailed-on pen.

NBC often has Lee Dixon and Graeme Le Saux as match pundits and they're pretty reasonable.
There's no reason why more of them can't be like that.

I like Dixon actually good shout. Not a le saux fan much tbh, what I do notice with the BBC boys is its all very pally and cliquey on screen, Gary linekar few weeks back when shearer and owen had that online spat about his book, made some joke and they all had a little snigger like a bunch of cackling school girls.

But yeh that's something you'll never get rid of, why do you think sky got carra and neville together<laugh>

I was gonna say its box office because they are such simalr rivals, both local lads bith hated the others team with a passion before sky brings them together in hope for the fireworks.
Tell me, What does sky gain from Liverpool or utd winning the league over any other team?

Cmon mate this was turning into a decent convo, honestly what do they gain or the BBC or nbc from pushing anyone's narrative over anyone else's? I think it's just what it is, the personal prejudices of those pundits due to playing day rivalries etc

Well, for one thing Uncle Rupert owned 9.8% of Man Utd for the first decade of the Premier League, so it would've been of great financial benefit to him if the team he owned a stake in just so happened to win the league that he also had a stake in...

Yes but that's not the case now. I fully get what you're saying mate, fergie time, refs seemingly scared to piss him off was definitely not something we all imagined, but I also cant get away from he fact that at the time the Utd side was an extension of fergie himself, and he gave them this air of arrogance and invincibility on the pitch which for me simply can't be totally dismissed by whatever bias if any, may or may not have been.

Nobody got a penalty at Old Trafford for years and this wasn't a goal:

We all know that there was obvious bias.

It cost us a finish above City... in 8th place! <laugh>
Potentially could've had a UEFA spot to play for on the final day, but nothing really solid. Hadn't won there for years though, IIRC.

Graham Poll did a decent article on bullshit stuff that clubs pull for the Fail years ago:

I hate to credit either, but it seems unfortunately relevant.
