And so the first Old Firm game of the season is upon us. Rangers go into the game as favourites. The SPL table toppers have an excellent home record and will be looking to extend their lead at the top.

Celtic return to domestic duty following defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Europa League but will be content at a competent display against the big-spending Spaniards.

Rangers will be boosted by the news that Nikica Jelavic has declared himself fit. Lee McCulloch, Alejandro Bedoya and Sasa Papac have also returned from injury and will give manager Ally McCoist a number of options in key positions.

Scott Brown and Anthony Stokes have recovered from knocks and Celtic can call upon the services of Daniel Majstorovic and on-loan left back Badr El Kaddouri.

Too many of the OF games last season were overshadowed by controversy both on and off the field. Let's hope that football is the winner today. Or, in other words, let's hope Celtic leave Ibrox with all three points. :emoticon-0100-smile

Well it's better than Dev and his effort, and me and EDGE are off to watch our historically superior football team rinse our small time neighbours and laugh as Lennon loses the plot.

Stoksey'll get on at some point. Lenny said it's partly down to his strain over the last week or so.

    Come on the Hoops!!

Thought Forrest might have got a start but Lennon's probably expecting a midfield battle. The reason I think Samaras and Mulgrew are playing is to give us some height at set-pieces, especially in our own box.

Worrying lack of height in our team when you consider the likes of Lafferty, Goian, Papac, Jelavic etc.

Expect lots of long balls into our box and plenty of diagonals.

Another goal lost due to schoolboy defending. Get it sorted Lennon.

It is only half time Sid, wait and see the postmortem.

So far, **** clearance, good finish.
Fabulously worked move and a lovely clinical finish
And as Tony Cascarino might say.....the lad has had a *very poor mistake*

That isn't what Cascarino would say at all.

Loovens needs to stand up to Jelavic. He's letting himself get bullied much like Rogne in the Cup final last season.
