HARRY ON TODAY'S MATCH:

Harry Redknapp predicts 'a great game between two even teams' when Liverpool travel to the Lane on Sunday.

The Reds made an impressive start to the Premier League campaign before being stopped in their tracks at Stoke last weekend.

Conversely, we endured a tough start against United and City before clicking into gear with our first win at Wolves.

Both ourselves and the Reds are targeting a place in the top four this season, making these head-to-heads all the more important.

"It's a big game and a great match to look forward to," said Harry.

"It will be a test and we certainly don't want to lose two homes games (in a row) either.

"Liverpool started well and Stoke was their first defeat. That didn't surprise me because every game is so difficult now. Getting the wins is hard but they will be bang in there at the end of the year, for sure.

"They've also got the likes of Gerrard and Johnson coming back, big players for them. It will be a real plus for them when Gerrard's back.

"I see Liverpool, Arsenal and ourselves all scrapping it out to try and make it into the Champions League again.

"It's going to be tough but we have got good players, a good squad and we will be right there again."

 

Here we go then, match day has arrived. I'm really looking forward to this game.

On topic.....real tough game for us this one, hopefully Kennys little grumble last week will get us a fair ref (who is it by the way?) and officials. Need to watch for the obvious threats of VDV, Bale and Adebayor but not enter this one too cautiously. I think our right back spot could be the key to todays game from a defensive point of view whilst in attack we need Suarez to just keep playing as he did last week but hopefully get a bit of luck in front of goal. As decent a team as Spurs are they undoubtedly have vulnerable days at the back and we have to be ruthless and exploit any chances we get. I presume it'll be big Brad in goal today so could do with him having a "Gomez" kind of day

I think we will win. The team is displaying much more confidence than last season and I believe that we have the squad to secure a good win.

You will have to have improved dramatically from only a few short months ago, to do that. Or we will have to play very badly. We beat you fairly easily at Anfield.

 

I reckon if we press them around the pitch, we'll win and win easily. Spurs have stopped doing that to the opposition, and this was evident against Man United, they completely capitulated. They normally put up more of a fight.

 

I reckon if we just let Carroll have the ball you'll never score.

Back to the game, the odds reflect how close this one looks before the whistle blows at least.

I will always love Stevie G for that last minute goal against the Hammers, it still ****s them off to this day . However, from our perspective am glad he won't be playing. IF King plays, and is reasonably fit I'll go for a win for the Spurs.

 

It should be interesting this time round as the roles of the ''Haves'' and the ''Have nots'' is reversed. Lets see how Spurs manage against a revitalised and resurgent Liverpool?

Did you watch the game? We matched them for 70 odd minutes, hardly a capitulation.

 

No need to assume I am upset mate, but am I am not too keen on match threads that include both sets of fans. They normally end up as slanging matches betweened biased myopic idiots, and we have the referees for that.

We also have our own posters like THFC6061 & DJ who always post a good thread and to be honest I am sad to see them getting merged on to this one. Putting official in the thread banner gives it an importance it does not deserve. As far as I'm concerned this is the Liverpool match thread and as I don't very often go on to other teams boards I will stick to the Spurs one thanks.
