Serious takeover talk

Another way to look at it is that the Dell boys have been looking to invest in English football for some time now. SAFC are an absolute bargain with the stadium, AOL, support, debt free and potential surrounding land deals. If they’re really serious about buying an English club, would they let this opportunity slip through their hands after all the work they’ve already put in?

 

I'm trying to retain a bit of hope and looking for positives and the one that keeps coming back to me is Donald selling Bridle Insurance. Why would he unless i) he needed to free up time to concentrate on something bigger i.e. kept on as part of the new regime or ii) he needed to raise capital i.e. the Americans want the parachute payments paying back.
If it was ii) then I'd assume he'd get a loan and pay it off with his profits so I'm hoping it's i) and that everything is fine, just taking a bit longer than anticipated.

I thought that but back in August when he was asked whether there were any ongoing legal cases he just said “none against us”. That’s not the same as “none at all”. Plus I think it takes a few months to get papers lodged at the High Court. Could be wrong.

 

You’d imagine if there was any truth in it going tits up the magedia would be all over it, the sun would be publishing article after article about it.

That’s why I personally think someone has got the wrong end of the stick. I might be totally wrong with that thought too.

Perhaps i didn't read into his exact comments right. TBH my head is Marmalade ATM. I don't know if i'm coming or going, and i'm trying to read into every situation, something that probably isn't there. Mrs Sauce has told me to calm down, before i have a heart attack

True, the buyer always holds the upper hand, but if they walk away and still want to buy a club, they could easily end up having to pay double for a mediocre Championship club and then possibly have to spend additional money on the stadium, training facilities, etc... We may have our faults, but I believe we’re probably the best bargain around in English football at this time They probably know this, but will still push for a better deal as you say.

Just found out there is a private jet registered in USA scheduled to land at Consett Airport at 10.00am tomorrow morning. The pilot is a P. Fogg so read into that as you will but remember you heard it here first

But that was weeks ago. And a lot can happen in a football takeover in 2 weeks.

It may well have been nailed on then, but not necessarily now.

Saying that I'm still hopeful that's it's going to happen.
