Ive read the reports here which seem to suggest we were dire. The football league highlights suggested we dominated particularly the second half. Did we play two different games yesterday or can someone shed a little light on what we were really like
Played poor and were lucky to get the result, but hey its not easy with 10 men. Also some of the fans feelings about player sales are starting to effect the team, due to poor crowds and support. On the plus side most of the team worked hard except snodgrass, and ground out the result.
Thanks for that mate. One thing though, are the crowds down all that much. Still had 22600 and I suspect the away support would have been tiny. When we play a team that brings 4000 away thatll push us back to the high twenties again. Worried what the hell is going on with Snoddy though. Hard to manage without Max or Snoddy
unfortunately when the crowd drops a few thousand,it seem to be the south stand which is affected the most.Only about 1/3 rd full yesterday not much singing.Maybe time to drop snoddy,Sam never done much wrong.

I think it's starting to become apparent that we're missing Gradel a little. It was mentioned on the radio that as soon as Snoddy got brought off we had noone to run at fullbacks. Gradel used to do that for fun, Snodgrass does that, but maybe Snodgrass is less effective at harrying if he doesn't have his counterpart.
When Snodgrass went off, we were so narrow. At the end of the game, we had 3 centrebacks, 2 centremids and 3 strikers on the pitch at once. It was an awful setup, and we didn't look like finding a winner through open play. We are in need of a fast winger who runs at players (basically Gradel...) because although Snoddy can take it past a player, he doesn't have the speed to damage defences in the way Gradel did. Connolly needs to come back in at right back though, because Tom Lees doesn't provide anything on the overlap. Someone like Sanchez Watt, a left footed player who can beat a man would be a good signing at the moment. We lack natural width in the team and it is so hard to break teams down.
Lloyd Sam is exactly what we need. He's pacey, he can beat fullbacks and he can cross well. He can also cut in very well. Gradel was a right footer so I don't see how Sam being one and playing on the left is an issue. Last I remember he could cross with either foot?
