Today it has been report from the Daily Mail & Daily Echo that Southampton F.C are set to be taken over for a speculated £50 Million from unnamed money men in the Middle East, despite being in League One. Southampton came out of administration and were sold to late German-Swiss billionaire Saints Hero 'Markus Liebherr'19 months ago, for £13 - £14 Million.

Do you think this is true? Bear in mind it was the Daily Mail who put the £10 Million price tag on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain specualtion of going to Arsenal. And failed miserably with that rumour after Nigel Adkins spoke out and confirmed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a Southampton player and is not for sale just yet!

My Opinion: Absolute tosh! Think Daily Mail is struggling to find gripping Football gossip and as they failed with the Alex Chamberlain rumour I think they trying to re-ignite this rumour for the second time.Presently Katharina Liebherr has took control of Southampton F.C since the death of our hero Markus.

Markus and Nicole Cortese have a vision to get Southampton back to Premiership with their 3/5 Year plan son dont expect any new Owners anytime soon!

R.I.P Markus Liebherr – MARKUS LIEBHERR BARMY ARMY!!

That's one hell of a profit! But how much (mad as it sounds) does £37 000 000 mean, to the Liebherrs?

I wish there was a law, that made papers prove the validity of stories before they print them. It would get rid of these nasty tabloids double quick!

The rumour has the same credibility as every other made up rubbish in the Daily Fail, and everyones least favourite local rag the faily echo. Poor reporting from two truly POOR papers

Hi Kingsland, very well thanks. Was in London seeing a show yesterday, so couldn't get to or watch the game, but very rudely kept checking the scores during dinner, but as the wife and daughter are both fans it was ok! Looked a great game for the neutral. I refuse to buy the mail, partly for its rabid right wing views, but also because of the lies they print about the Saints. Anyone who sides with the antichrist himself (Roopert) is on dodgy ground for me. The echo is just plain lazy, and print any old tosh, without checking as long as its anti saints and anti Cortese.

How are you finding this new potential home? and more importantly the job of moderator>

Didn't Cortese state he had had someone ready to step in should the Liebherr family not wish to continue with Markus's legacy? Just a rehash of what has been said before? Very much a case of wait and see..... I mean they were spot on with Alex weren't they<whistle>

Rule of thumb for the British printed media is: If they don't produce a source or detailed references don't believe it.

Another, don't buy or read the Mail, Sun, Star and Express and take it as the truth, it probably isn't.
