So you think we should :

    a) be without a manager
    b) look for a manager even though the takeover is uncertain
    c) SD should get us a manager even though he appointed Jack Ross in the first place.

I know it's pointless saying it but we'd be better off giving the team our full support until the new owners(hopefully) are in a position to make their own appointment.

Mind Jack might solve the dilemma by walking as I'd guess he's getting sick of the antipathy he's getting

There’s nothing stopping SD consulting with the new owners over an appointment.

We did but we are not set up to give any smaller forward a chance.

Griggs entire career has been built on balls in the channels and his running of the last man. He comes here an we launch balls at his head and no support around him

Edit. I in no way think he's put a decent shift in, but I can see why he doesn't

Wonder who the guy is that's on now?

Said been posting since last year on the SMB that he wanted Ross out as he knew him from St Mirren.

It all depends on who the next guy's going to be, the timing is bad unless the takeover is happening soon in which the timing is perfect to get someone new in. Sacking Ross and getting a safe pair of hands (allegedly) like Grayson might well see us drop down the league.

I’ve stuck by Ross long enough, think I’ve been more patient than many, but today was a step to far. That was awful. I’d said in the summer wait to see where we are after 10 games, We need to be on or around 2 points per game. We are slipping away from this and our away form is worrying and likely to push us even further behind. I’m now of the opinion that I don’t think we can improve under Ross. I won’t be one to throw insults at him, and I’m gutted it hasn’t worked out for him as he seems a decent bloke.

17 bans, 5 meltdowns, 3 offers to meet for a fight is my guess

But we are looking like sliding anyway, with the atmosphere possibly turning toxic.

Even at a punt a new man would get a few weeks grace, there’s no positive in keeping him on just because someone else may be worse.

He 100% needs to go. No way back now.

Even when he's been doing well, it's not actually been good enough. It's always been so near, but ultimately everything is a failure. Top 2 last season, checkatrade, playoffs, this season.

Its dropped off a cliff now. Today was an abject shambles.

I'm 100% Ross out. It has to be soon as well to save our season.

Just posted this over the road, your post makes it relevant here on this thread:

I remember years ago when Reid had lost the team and it was clear we were on a slide, we were playing Fulham and getting spanked (I think?) 3 nowt.

Fulham were attacking us in the second half and a mate of mine started loudly cheering (he was seething at the time) another Fulham attack.
All hell broke out as he got pelters and he said "**** off, he's lost the team and lost the plot, we might as well ship six and get him sacked now, because if we don't he'll relegate us!"

I thought of that after the match today and while I wouldn't have cheered them scoring more at the time, I just found myself thinking "if we had shipped those other chances I reckon 4 nil would have been a much greater chance of him being sacked".

This is what it's come to - how **** do we have to be in the 3rd division to get rid of the manager in charge of some of the most humiliating performances we've endured?

Yeah we didn't make the most of him and that's on the manager. Just wish we could have swapped Maja for another (potentially better given what we spent on Grigg) Maja, who can make goals themselves, and cracked on. Didn't help that Wyke is incapable of scoring too.

So you think we should keep him.. forever?

Ok, please don't take this the wrong way as I'm not here for an argument otherwise I would be on another message board, but as I see it...

I'm not sure mate, but you're coming across like you think we shouldn't, or any club for that matter, sack a manager for poor performance because it raises a little uncertainty?

    To answer your questions:
    a) Yes, until we find a suitable candidate to offer the job and we now have 2 weeks to do that.
    b) Please see my reply to Janey and I counter with: What if the takeover goes on for another month? 2 months? and we find ourselves further and further away?
    c) He wouldn't be the first chairman to sack a manager he hired. I really don't understand this one tbh.

The team has my support, and the club. I am a season card holder despite working away nearly half of the year and I'm lucky to get in to double figures for home games seen in a season. The club will always be in a position to make their own appointment because no matter what is happening, SD is the owner and he can't put things on hold whilst a potential takeover is rumbling on.
