I'm happy to admit that I am a whinger and I always see the negatives. But last season, after our promotion, lots of people on here and Pinkun were saying, "We're going to have periods where we lose games, where we look awful, but I will stick by this team and by Daniel Farke because this season has been so wonderful and we owe him our loyalty." A few bad results and that seems to have been completely forgotten. Yes, we're in the bottom three. But we're not hopelessly adrift and we have been incredibly unlucky with injuries. Come on, guys, show some support for your team!
You're right, Lisbon, but it's hard to see a way back after losing 5-1 at home to Villa. My hope now is that it produces a response like that which followed the 3-0 loss to Leeds at home last season. I'll stick by the team and all concerned, but my expectations for this season have dropped a long way.
Right on. We are still learning. 8 games in and quite a few other teams to play home and away! We will not go into admin, we will not lose faith, we are the mighty NCFC!
I might have missed it but I haven’t seen anyone criticising Farke? He’s been dreadfully unlucky with injuries. None of that takes away from the fact that losing 5-1 at home to a fellow promoted team is just not good enough. Too many terrible performances today and it would be false to pretend otherwise. That doesn’t mean not supporting the team.
Agree Canary Rob. The defence was not strengthened enough at the start of the season and now the weak defence is being exposed. That’s 21 goals scored against us in eight games. Not sure why spending on players was very modest when being in PL brought at least £100m. I am sure somebody will explain.
Right, I’m going to do ratings and take the flak: McGovern - 6 - phenomenal double save for the penalties and I’m not sure he could really have done anything about any of the other goals other than Hourihane’s, though even for that he was blind-sided Aarons - 4 - got into decent positions but his delivery was atrocious and he got caught out of position regularly, with almost all of Villa’s attacks coming down his side Amadou - 4 - shaky, poor positionally, dominated by Wesley. He’s obviously not a centre back so I will allow him some leeway but he really struggled today Godfrey - 5 - whatever injury he needs surgery on seriously hampered his performance Lewis - 7 - our best and most creative player McClean - 4 - yes, he was on the pitch and, yes, he passed to Villa players regularly so you might have mistaken him for one of theirs Leitner - 4 - lightweight and lacking inspiration Cantwell - 6 - showed some flair going forward and probably created the most into their box. Doesn’t provide enough defensive cover though Buendia - 5 - hustled hard as ever, but too many poor passes, falling over trying to get free kicks that weren’t and poor decisions Stiepermann - 4 - he, just, manages to get a 4 because he worked himself into some good positions, but was comfortably out worst player today. Poor decisions and lacked composure in front of goal. We need him to have a good game otherwise our structure collapses Pukki - 5 - made some good runs but otherwise anonymous
It's also rather stupid to expect us to spend money we don't have considering how close we have come to extinction!
Nobody enjoys losing but let's have a bit of common sense. We've got the equivalent of a full team injured, let's see what happens when we get some of them back! There's no way I'm wetting my pants, nor am I clamoring for anyone to get the sack! On the ball City!!!!
