Another loss, another red card, and another yellow card for dissent!

We have won 1 game in 16 games, SORT IT OUT COTTERILL!!!

No disipline, no pride, and no hope at our club at the moment :(

I listened to the commentary on Hull radio - even they thought the red was harsh.

Just 1 yellow (Tal Ben Haim) - and it was not a dirty game at all. We played clean, just not too well.

But next week we will either win or draw - because I'll be at FP and I have never been there when we've lost - only ever win or draw, so take heart.

I'm looking forward to SCs comments though - can almost hear it now!

The red may have been harsh, it doesn't change the fact that it was given. We are getting a reputation, and that's probably what swung it.

I hope you are our lucky charm 3rd eye, but... I can't see it happening at the moment, something is very wrong at Pompey :/

What's the bet SC's comments will include 'We should've won the game'. I'm certain Steve's scratching his head wandering why we're not top with maximum points in all honesty.

I am very surprised by Portsmouth's predicament and although I am a Saints fan, expected Cotterill to have assembled a half-decent squad and made a concerted effort for the play-off positions. In the last new seasons unfancied teams like Blackpool , Norwich and Swansea have amazed the pundits and I had a suspicion that this season would be your turn. However, it looks like a long and hard season for the blue half of Hampshire and you will struggle to get out of the bottom half of this league on current form. Cotterill won't turn things around with your current squad of has-beens and journeymen. You are luck that there are teams even worse than yourselves and you are no already in the drop zone. Despite David Lampit making the right sort of noises, it is becoming apparent that the new owners aren't quite as wealthy as you might have hoped and I wonder how longer Cotterill will put up with managing a club where you seem unlikely to build a squad to make a decent crack at the league.

Couldn't have put it better myself !! Cotterill out in December unless things improve, and let the new manager make his own signings in the transfer window that aren't players like Benjani to partner kanu upfront <doh> Even Varney is not working out- and I had very high hopes of him. So far this season he's got 1 goal, with 1 red card. Kitson was never any good, and we should take any sum of money we can, before he leaves for free. Futacs, Williams and Norris/Lawrence as our front 2/3. However, we could use Huseklepp in behind the strikers- he is one of Cotterill's only decent signings- along with Pearce.

Hope for a win at Fratton Park on the week-end- so far we have 1 win in 16 games. Cotterill, sort it out !! <ok>

    (quote) Cotterill, sort it out

Nah, two of those Four Words are correct!!

At this rate we're heading for a relegation struggle, his record is atrocious, he seems to have lost the dressing room, listening to Express FM he's certailnly lost the fans AND the commentary crew, his tactics are 'strange' never mind boring - he HAS assembled an enviable Championship Squad and he DID do well to keep us 'alive' last season. That's it !

Why drag it on - football's always been a cruel business - there are plenty of good names out there who will do a better job for Portsmouth Football Club......

Bookings for dissent are stupid. At the end of the day, the Ref is going to get paid. He should just take a bit of abuse like a man & get on with it. Fair, book someone when they're going OTT & being threatening etc, but most are given because a player bothers to voice his opinion. Its silly. Other people take abuse all the time in their jobs FFS.

Anyway, that doesn't really excuse the poor discipline. Its awful, and if Cotts doesn't sort it quick (along with the constant playing people out of position & making stupid subs) he needs to go I'm afraid.

I was at thr game today...........first one I have been to this season due to work commitments abroad.........I have seen us on the telly and taken heart that when we have drawn or lost we have nearlly always played well and thought the team would build on each game and come back stronger.....but today we were utterly c**p. Tactics, what tactics, at the moment it seems to be get it out wide, wack it in to benji and if al else fails take the opposition out......and hard!

Now, I am all for Pompey players making them selfes known, as fans we want tough players that will die for the cause........but silly bookings are becoming the norm, and players will play to draw bookings, and a few of the hull players had sussed that by half time.

SC needs to get the players back to forming a tough team that can grind out results away from home and not conceed goals at home. There were some good points to our team today and a couple of new faces did play well, but all in all we never looked like a threat and made it too easy for hull.

If the results dont come, I think we all know what SC will be getting for chrimbo!

Move onto the next boys, time for a result.......

I think that there is a simple cure for that. Simply insert a clause in all contracts that the players will be fined 2 weeks money for bookings due to abusing the ref and taking off their shirts. Job done.

Can't believe you boys are saying Cotterill out. Who are you going to get who is better than him?? We have all had crap results but chopping isn't going to fix it. That said, your chances of winning are significantly increased if you keep 11 men on the pitch...

It's not the results which is the issue (well, to some extent it is, of course) but mainly, in my opinion, the constant red cards and streams of yellow cards and whinging by our players and stupid tackles, and nothing seems to be done to address the issue.

Yeah I have noticed you boys pick up a few. I guess it's worse when you have a small squad so can't easily slot in for suspensions. I thought that Huseklepp was meant to be a useful player, if he starts firing then you will have no dramas.

Ok, I didn't make it to the game today, but from what else I have seen this season we have been unlucky.

Can we all take a moment to remember where we were this time last season and remember that things could be worse.

I cannot defend the gaffer for much longer but let's look at what stopped us from free falling last season......we need to be playing halford and rocha at the back. This was the central paring that put us on that run towards the play offs last season.

Change it up a bit, make the players realise that this year we actually have competition for places and Portsmouth football club isn't a big boys club and the disipline needs to be reinstated.

Just saw the red card on TFLS.

Not a red. Maybe a yellow, but a red is a bit OTT...

Agreed RLGB, not deserving of a straight red and I think an appeal will be raised for it.

You'll be lucky as you need a serious error to get it overturned. That one could have gone either way. Unrelated but starting from this season all red card appeals from Prem down to Sunday League have to be accompanied by video evidence, but how many pub teams film their matches!!

Went to the game yesterday, we were appalling. Can not understand why Mokoena is in the side with Rocha on the bench, he was aweful. We have no creative midfield player that can get the ball to the forwards. Benjani and Huseklepp were only getting scraps. Got a bit better when Grandad came on, but if our idea of attacking football is for Ashdown to hoof it in the vague direction of a forward (with a 5 % sucsess rate ) then I feel we are not going anywhere this season apart for a relegation battle
