Another thing. Being the good Catholic Atheist I am, I will have fish tomorrow. Good call though Fats, I'll see if my home made comes out as well
Hehe, I downloaded a recipe for Pesto, and went out and bought the couple of ingredients I was short of, namely Basil and Pine Nuts. So, after a couple of days, I looked at the basil bush I'd bought and it looked a bit sad. So I decided to make some Pesto immediately. Then I looked at the amount of basil I needed on the recipe. About enough to feed a small army, when all I wanted was enough to experiment with. So I looked at the amounts of the rest of the ingredients and made some Pesto by feel. And it's quite good. Better than shop stuff. I think I can get it quite a bit better without too much trouble, but next time I shall find a forest of basil.
Yeah, I am pretty much always tempted myself. I have so much garlic and onions in the root veg drawer that people always let out some comment if they catch sight of them. Of course, they are necessary for all kinds of cuisine originating east of the UK, so it's never too much really. Nothing ever gets a chance to go off, put it that way.
I wouldn't think the texture would be firm enough to throw well Ah! discuss...i mentally missed an S out
Having commented above favourably about cake and tarts, etc, it may not seem as though I'd agree with you, but really I'm not a fan either. Though that has been through self discipline. If someone says, "savoury or sweet" to me, in terms of food, it is 99/100 savoury for me. Hopefully, that conveys my perspective.
I like garlic, but never eat it because I fear it will make me smell. Used to do a great roast lamb with garlic, olive oil and rosemary inserted in slits under the skin. Yum.
