It turns out that the players' **** does actually smell, despite their walking around as if it were the contrary. That was a throwback to a few years ago when we would take our foot way off the pedal thinking the job was done. The Bournemouth 4-3 springs to mind. Terrible attitude in the second half.
We've won. That's what important. 3 points in the bag. Hope we learn the lessons from the game but we move on.
It started in three first half. Terrible attitude after going 3-0 up. At 3-3, they woke up from a much needed kick up the arse! We've got another game like that on Saturday too
For once I was well happy with that and was never really worried - my mate asked me what was wrong - My take on it is - in previous years we draw/lose that game We went three up Switched off Pulled our socks up got one ahead and managed the game out properly Against a decent side Job done Heads on Leicester now Big game that
he may not have been good in possession but his defending was immense. Which is what we need from him. Wasn’t great last night but as you said before, his **** level is still better than most!
If we are going to persist with Gini and Hendo as the 8’s, then I think they need to switch roles. Let Gini be the more offensive one and Hendo be the more disciplined one. Right now, it’s simply not doing much. Hendo is advancing high up the pitch without offering much (I don’t think he has any goals or assists this year and he’s not involved in build play). More worryingly, by taking up a high position on the far right, he’s both a) getting in the way of where Trent used to be really dangerous and b) he’s leaving a lot of space behind him which is a burden on Trent. This is more a criticism of Klopp rather than Hendo as it’s definitely a tactical switch. This may be one of the reasons why we don’t look as good defensively season.
To be fair, we gained more control once Milner came on and we shifted to a 4231. Milner in a 2 man midfield always scares the **** out of me but it paid off.
Not really his fault he didnt get an assist yesterday Split the defence with a great pass and Whoever got end messed it up. Also Mane missed an open goal with his head when he could possibly have scored with his knob.
to be fair, he did some good stuff on the ball. But defensively he was completely off the boil after the first goal. The criticism on his offensive game is more throughout this season. As I say, had some good moments today. He gave the ball away a few times which I don’t mind because he was taking risks.
He had covered back well on a couple of occasions prior to losing the ball that ultimately led to their first goal but after that as you say he totally lost his form and was rightly hooked .
