woohoo, two before half time. Trigger opens his account. Never mind my prediction, keep smacking them in.
Hoops putting us under the cosh a little in that first half after a pretty quick and decent start by the mighty Bluebirds. 2nd goal very much against the run of play but very welcome too at a very good time to knock the stuffing out of them are little. Murphy looking at bit lightweight again. Some excellent touches from Tomlin. Oh, and well on track for my prediction with Mozza scoring
Need to ensure we keep it tight for the next 15 - 20 mins and not give them any hope! Forgot to say, Bennett being given a bit of a torrid time too...
Just said Cardiff playing from left to right in second half. Every time I go to CCS or watch home games on SKY, we always seem to play that way in second half...must be standard match plan when we win toss!
Odd game really. 2nd best for large parts but Smithies hardly tested. Think we've had 4 shots on target and 3 have gone in. About time mind you given how many missed attempts we've had in previous games!
Slowly building momentum. Unbeaten run keeps going... Another clean sheet too... Not to be sniffed at.
Yep. One of those nights for us. We defended atrociously and didn’t get any luck in attack. It can happen especially in this monstrosity of a league.
It definitely is an unpredictable league. We do tend to have very little possession in most of our games though. Unbeaten in 7 now.
28% actually Weird game. QPR had one of the best players I’ve seen at this level for a long time, Eze by name and made the game look easy by nature. Hope Warnock doesn’t rest on his laurels; for most of the game Bacuna and Murphy were terrible. Tomlin regrettably just couldn’t get into the game. Another night we’d have lost that 3-0; that’s football.
Yeah I know under Warnock you’ve been quite direct for a while now but that was pretty ugly even by his standards. No one cares when you win but I guess patience wears thin when you aren’t doing well.
WWR, if it’s any consolation I’ve never enjoyed less a 3-0 win. A win is a win but it was painful at times to watch. I’m beginning to get fed up of watching the opposition run the game throughout and seeing our CB’s punting the ball upfield. I’m looking forward to next season with a new manager and a modern approach to football.
No consolation needed. A loss always stings to some extent but it was a far more humbling being comprehensively outplayed by an excellent West Brom on Saturday. I’m optimistic about our younger players who will learn from both defeats. Warnock is never retiring, mate. This is his eleventh farewell tour. Feel he’ll be a hard act to follow though as it’ll be tough to bring in too much of a revolution style-wise.
While Tomlin added great value going forward, in terms of combatting QPR's very useful midfield we clearly missed Ralls who would have broken up their play to a much greater extent. With Pack operating just in front of the back 4 Bacuna was fighting a losing battle in the middle, outnumbered at every turn. It emphasises the conundrum Warnock has for Saturday if Ralls is fit. I suspect he will go with Ralls for what will be a tough game with Albion wanting to bounce back from this week's defeat. After our improvements in recent weeks this will be a real test of how far we have come. Despite the goals and win our best performers were Morro and Flint. Although Hugill caused them few problems (tailor made for our defenders he reminded me of Jon Parkin, only slower!!!!) they spent most of the game fire fighting when their wide players or Eze, their right wing or other midfielders broke through.
