I didn't see anyone not trying. Aurier makes bad decisions, but doesn't lack effort. Winks was trying too hard....if he had stuck to simple passes as he usually does he would have had a better outcome.
1996 just after christmas away to Newcastle! The people feeling stupid tonight should be the players and coaching staff...they prepared for and played in this match. A top team should NEVER concede 3 goals in 10 minutes...to do do TWICE in the same match as we did tonight (44th- 54th min and 81st -90th) is simply unacceptable.
Dunno at what minute you are quoting that crap from but bayern deffo had a higher xg than 1.36 you are in dreamland ps
Almost all the goals were from shots outside the area....it's not normal for that many to go on....Lloris had no chance with any of them.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino speaking to BT Sport: "I don't need too much time to explain. We played 30 mins well, started well, pressing high. But we were unlucky that we conceded in the first minute of the half. "They were very clinical. After we scored the penalty for two we had chances to score the third. But from the 83rd and 88th minute we conceded three more goals. "In football it can happen. Every single touch went in. We are very disappointed and very upset but we have to stay together. I think we are strong in our mentality. "Maybe you are bored about my speech but football is today not yesterday. It is always is about the show. You have to do it today and tomorrow. It is not about experiences and what happened three months ago. "We are disappointed. Every single touch from Bayern was clinical. They scored with every touch. It is tough to accept. You have to move on. "This type of situation you have to face. It is tough and you need to be strong and keep going. Stay together, help each other and be all together. When you receive this type of result it is important to bounce back and believe in yourself. It is the only way to recover."
They scored 2 from out the area, 1 on the line and 4 from in the area, 1 of which was a 1 on 1 and 2 where no defenders were in between. I can see why we see things very differently. You evidently watch a different game when you think almost all the goals were scored from the halfway line. Give those chances to harry and you expect him to put them away especially when theres not much pressure on the ball
He’s talking jibberish...it’s almost like he’s pleading with the players to not shaft him anymore Sheffield United manager was more hurt over the weekend for losing 1-0
I don't think Xg works like that...it isn't just the final touch. Eg how the one on one is created matters. I was in the stadium and have not watched any replays so I stand corrected. But 7 goals from an Xg of 1.4 is insane.
So what is your point, exactly? That we'll be fine this season as long as we don't play teams with top notch attackers? Because that doesn't sound particularly reassuring. In fact, it sounds a lot like the way we were in 13/14. Fine against the crap teams, arse-wiped by anyone with strikers with a modicum of talent.
Lies, damn lies and Xg. These are the sort of insights that keep these people in a job, PS. At the end of the day, you can apply Xg to Messi's entire career and say he "should have" only scored 100 goals. But he didn't. Because Xg goes out the window as soon as you introduce clinical finishers into the equation. And the way to beat a clinical strike force is not to replay the game on theoretical statisticians' models ad nauseam until the numbers align and you get the result you "deserve", it is to defend like you have clue what defending entails.
Yes but Gnabry isnt Messi. Normally he would have scored one at most. And yes only the result counts....but it remains the case that you can defend crap and win 1-0 and defend well and lose 3-0. What happened after the 80th minute irrelevant unless you think we should have tried to close out at a 4-2 loss. 2-4 would have been a fair result, as would 4-2 if we had finished like Gnabry.
I'm personally more concerned about the fact that in the 20mins between our 2nd and their 5th, we showed very little fight, energy or willpower to close the gap further. Other than a long range Eriksen howitzer, Neuer had scarcely anything to do in what should have been our most dangerous passage of the 2nd half. Instead of seizing control of the game and tightening the noose, all we did was push our defensive line over the halfway line and hope for the best. Naive is not the word.
If Poch wants to stay and change things then he needs to get rid of his chums and get some new coaches in with some new ideas. Otherwise I think he will be out too...sooner than we all anticipated
Alli would fetch a decent sum How can you banter with the opposition when youve just been hammered No respect, no pride Sell the poncy ****
