Good Morning. It's Tuesday 1st October, and here are the Leeds Utd headlines

Ayling pens new 4 year deal

Luke Ayling has signed a new 4 year deal that will keep him at the club until 2023. The 28yo right back joined Leeds from Bristol City in the Summer of 2016, and although injury prone has represented the Whites on over 100 occasions! It is not known how much the deal is worth financially.

Supposing we don't go up? What if Bielsa leaves and we're left with a bunch of players that a new Manager does not fancy?

Ex France Manager lays into Bielsa

Ex-France Manager Raymond Domenech has branded Bielsa's style of football as 'impossible', claiming that his counter-pressing strategy doesn't work, giving examples when the Argentine was Managing Olympique de Marseille

" OM (Olympique de Marseille) tried for 6 months (to do an intense pressing) but Bielsa did not understand that it was very difficult physically and his team took the broth. They were autumn champions and finished 5th (4th). We can have ideas, but we must have the means. Bielsa started on a philosophy of squeezing the opponent everywhere. It's simply impossible!

By sequence, we can do it, but it requires intelligence on the part of the players. That did not stop OL fans from adoring Bielsa?

Yes, but the team finished 5th! When I say to Marseille fans: "Bielsa at OM, it was a scam, an aberration", they are able to hang me! I answer them: "I do not understand, you have finished what place? 5th while you were first at the beginning!"

    U23's lose

Leeds U23's lost 2-1 against Crewe at Thorpe Arch yesterday courtesy of a first half double from Railwaymen's young midfielder Oli Finney, and although Gotts netted twenty minutes from time, the Whites were unable to force an equaliser.

Douglas and Ayling both played 35 minutes. Could this be good preparation to start them both tonight?

Interestingly both Roberts and Nketiah were both omitted from the squad! Could one, or even both of them start this evening?

    Morning all....

If we don’t go up and Bielsa leaves, the sensible approach would be to find a similar replacement, a man who wants to be a coach not a manager, a guy who doesn’t care that we have a director of football.

I don’t think it will be a case finding a manager who wants to strip us down and bring in his own, more a case of someone willing to work with what we have just as Bielsa has done.

In regards to Bielsa’s critics, I enjoy watching Leeds play, I believe we “can” win every time we take to the field, I’d have us challenging at the top end of the table over anything we have had previously (last dozen or so years).

Aiming at the social media loud mouths here but boy, have some got short memory’s. Roll the clock back to Cellino, GFH and Bates, have they forgot the lack of spending, the bottom half finishes, the season over by November, the constant pulling out Wiki the past it journey men on loan that nobody else wanted?

Last season maybe Pablo ran out of steam and maybe injury took its toll but before Kiko made that blazing error we were on our way to a Wembley play off final place.

Good Morning to Matt and co from a very wet Bardsey
Well tonight will really point out where we are in the great scheme of things as WBA are top of the league a 4-0 would be nice
Ayling has done well since he came here but is he a PL player?
    Does Tyler start tonight?
    Will Bamford be dropped?
WJ has very kindly said he would take me for my endoscopy today as poor Moe is still on crutches

    Morning all

If Bielsa does leave then it's time to kick out Orta and bring in A MANAGER. We don't need a person to look for players and say there you go. We need a man to go and bring the players that he wants.

Not exactly a critic but I do wonder about certain parts of his team selections. Especially the fact that Eddie is being over looked for Bamford weekend in weekend out. If this carries on then he's gonna start looking for a team who will give him starts and I can imagine there will be a couple of lower Premier League teams looking at him right now. Personally I want him on a permanent as I don't think he will be a regular at Arsenal but someone else will pick him up.

If I hear about spending, spending, spending one more time then I think I'm going to scream. No things we not rosey over the last few regimes but you don't need to go out and spend millions of pounds a summer to improve. There is a thing called scouting. Scum only spent a £11 million on Ronaldo. There's some big money signing that fell flat on their faces. Julio Reyes, Fernando Torres, Andy Carroll and Juan Sebastian Veron come to mind.

If buts and maybe on why we didn't get up last season but if Bielsa is the second coming of Revie then he needs to do better and we need to stop giving him passes. I don't remember another manager getting this much of a pass in our recent history.

The frog debate is a bit pointless as it comes from a bloke who has won fk all. Bielsa has a philosophy and sticks to it because the fans love him everywhere he goes. He excites fans with the style, finesse, panache and attack attack attack approach. He wouldn't change his philosophy for anyone, even if that meant not winning the Champions league. Yes he will tweak and adapt but no wholesale change as he would prefer to come second and keep his philosophy intact. Warnock won promotion with Cardiff and QPR etc, but the football was dire and I prefer the football we are playing now to watching lump it up ball. I was depressed as hell these last 2 weeks because we dominated both games and lost, making it worse was the U23s lost their last 2 games after being a mile ahead in possession and quality. Hard to take, but I've decided my principles of preferring Bielsaball overrules my head wanting to win at all costs.

On the Bielsa replacement front I suspect some of the changes in the academy will become more obvious very soon. We know Cresswell and another coach recently left because Bielsa demanded more changes. I think we will see another couple of coaches arriving to work for Corberan and I also suspect that Pablo will become part of his team. and don't overlook the fact that Dallas has just got a long contract. It would be worth investigating which Leeds players are taking coaching badges?

I agree - the fans love him, but playing devils advacate, what has Bielsa won?

Furthermore, he hasn't stayed put more more than two years since Chile got too hot for him (I'll get my coat) 2007-11.

In Argentina he's a god because he won the title and cup for Newells Old Boys, a legend of the game. Went on to manage Argentina you know the country thats always in the Worlds top 4 and he introduced some of the biggest names in football to that Argentina team. He stayed with them and took them to the Olympics too followed by going to Chile to bring them from shyte to top 6 World footballing nation and way ahead of England. Chile fans loved him and named a stadium after him, won anything in football???? Respect from his peers, coaches changing their tactics and the way they look at football. He came to Europe and took a crap Spanish team and had them batter Man Utd into submission in both legs of a Champions League Semi, you know that scum team who were number 1 in Europe at the time with Fergie who actually got on his knees and said he wasnt worthy after the match.

Tired old lazy bollox journos spouting crap, which Elland has just regurgitated probably to wind some of us up. Pep, Poch and many of todays top worldy coaches idolise Bielsa. He runs coaching academies and has acolytes from all over the world. If Bielsa had spent all his career in club football he would have won loads, but he hasnt and even today he is at Leeds when he could have been managing his pick up top clubs and has refused clubs in our own prem.

How does it work then? The ref doesn't hear anything but the black player claims he was called a name??

I'm guessing normally it would be "he said she said, no I didn't" but as it is Leeds we're already guilty

And here we go again there's next weeks headlines on sky sports sorted.
Will there ever be a season where we can just play football and not be distracted by accusations and off field antics. But as I said on Saturday when I saw the charlton press conference at least it'll deflect all the **** from Derby

Call me cynic but a Player on loan from West Brom accuses a Leeds player of racism just before Leeds play West Brom does seem convenient :emoticon-0138-think

    Ahhh, its making sense now.

Phil Hay posted this on Saturday

    Phil Hay‏Verified account@PhilHay_ Sep 28

Strange comment from Macauley Bonne. He was asked if he thought Leeds were a "fair team." Said yes but then added that there was something which happened today "which I won't mention" and which will come out later. Bowyer says he doesn't know what Bonne is referring too.
