Seeing Steve Perryman at the lane yesterday got me thinking back to a game early in his career where Brian Labone went off injured after a tackle with Steve P , this ended Labone's career , is this correct or a brain fart on my behalf ?
Not sure, but I meant to mention his appearance at half-time, as it was great to see him back and looking healthy. His story about people not going to games to watch him played down his ability, though. Very humble.
I agree PNP , very much doubt we will see a player the likes of him at the lane again , I've met him a few times and he always had time to talk about the team and club
when Steve goes up to lift the FA cup we'll be there, we'll be there circa 1981 & 1982. Sang that a few times each cup round and then of course we WERE there and WON it both times So glad I'm old!
81 was the beginning of me going to the lane...the semi final replay in 1981 was my first match...great night!
My first season of supporting us as a 7 or 8 yr old saw us nearly relegated...same with the next. The one after was different though...we were relegated...#crapplastic
Dan Kilpatrick will be doing an AMA on r/coys this Wednesday At which point does he get sick of N'Geme questions?
For a moment I thought Shankland was trending on Twitter because that failed gameshow contestant came up with yet another nickname for London...
A Dundee United fan that I know keeps raving about him. Turned down Sunderland to join them in the summer. He's scored 15 goals in 12 appearances for them this season, following seasons where he scored 29 and 34 goals. Playing at a **** level, but he's really banging them in and I doubt he'll be there long, unfortunately for them.
For anyone morbidly curious, here's Dan KP's AMA on r/coys https://www.reddit.com/r/coys/comments/dcdfga/im_dan_kilpatrick_football_reporter_at_the_london/ ...yes, that sentence does make sense
Interesting stuff....................................................................................................................................................................... Cambozola..........a fairly recent invention, marrying the form of Camembert and flavour of Gorgonzola......................Mmmmmmmmm!
Have you seen that Beşiktaş winger Ali Mehmet N'koudou? Has a great cross on him, we should also sign him.
I don't remember Perryman doing Labone, but I remember his early games where this "little fella" went in hard on the opposition.Didn't matter who they were,he hit 'em.Bill must have loved watching that!...…..and he knew what to do with the ball once he'd won it! A great servant to the club. I can still see his 2 goals v the Italians......
