Nope, it is definitely our worst start in 30 years Doesn't say much about any other team than the top two though does it
Wow, I am really worried 7 games in. 5 teams have more points than you, I guess you are ****ting it too
You come here to sum and wonder why you get grief...the prem board is for wumming...here is for debate
You gave no counter view to my post...you made the original point...I gave a sensible reasoned response and you made a flippant redponse about me fearing relegation...I have discussed stuff with you and there is no way you seriously think you have sensibly debated with me...do as this is a waste of time I am off as I have an early start tomorrow.
...says the self-owning dullard whose definition of "debate" is rushing over to the Goon board and misquoting me for the sole purpose of riling a few of them up so they flame our board a couple of seasons ago
I'm not the one directly responsible for a bunch of Goons flaming our board a couple of seasons ago Diego is, and I'm not going to let him forget that
He looked considerably worse than Saka, who recently turned 18, and Nelson, who replaced him from the bench and is 19. It's too early to judge him, of course, but you may have been better off spending the money on another position. Not loaning out Nketiah would've given you another option in attack and you could've brought in some quality elsewhere.
Saka was our best player, alongside Guendouzi, in my opinion. Wasn't afraid to take players on, rarely lost the ball and offered real width and skill. He almost scored a 2nd goal for us, too. Nelson wasn't really on long enough to judge, but he's not played that well since coming back from Hoffenheim and integrating into the Arsenal side. He has been disappointing so far after showing a lot of promise last year. I admit I hadn't seen much of Pepe before he joined, but he was linked with a lot of big clubs after his breakthrough season at Lille. Even though I'd only seen highlights of him online, my initial thoughts were that his ball control and technical ability needed a lot of work. At the age of 24, though not old, it is very rare that you suddenly develop those aspects of your game heading into your prime years. Ornstein actually said that other clubs didn't bother matching the £72m bid for Pepe because that valuation was too excessive. It looks as though they've been proven right thus far. I'm not knee-jerk enough to label him a 'flop' just yet, but there's been very little encouragement to go off so far. Needless to say, 1 goal (from a penalty) and 2 assists in 8 matches is not enough. As for Nketiah, I do understand the decision to loan him out. Laca and Auba are our main two strikers. He wanted regular game time, which he wouldn't have got this season. He's also quite unproven, so a loan move to a promotion-chasing Championship side, under a very respected manager, could do wonders for him in the long run. Besides, the likes of Martinelli and John-Jules look like they can do a job in the Carabao Cup + Europa League games.
Last night's game confirmed that Arsenal are as bad as Utd. There's something strangely reassuring about that.
