I think everyone can agree we were at war, that's obvious. Isn't the dispute between you two the fact that it was an undeclared war? 'Undeclared' doesn't mean no war took place, it just means that Argentina instigated an unlawful military action over the Falklands and Britain retaliated in kind. There just wasn't that Chamberlain moment:

Their president is very friendly, it was the woman 6 years ago who was hostile, you must be stuck in a time warp. Since you're in denial, Chesh, let's first deal with you're initial claim. You claimed that there was no war. Your words, not mine. And wrong, as your later posts confirm by your own hand ....

So I replied, inviting you to prove it. Of course, I got the usual waffle from you to avoid the subject at hand ...

That was where you introduced the term 'declaring', which I invite you to check back to find me mentioning it (clue: it never happened, so you'll never find it). So I replied as follows, giving you a link to a very reputable source with very, very clear information about us officially being at war. I also invited you to provide a link to rubbish the Encyclopaedia Britannica's factual reporting ...

And what did I get instead of a link? You returned to declaring that the war never happened again! How Chesh-like! You seem to forget that you're committing your views to a record that can be referenced at any time. ROFL. I note that you also re-accuse me of saying that we declared war. So it seems that you never checked back to find out that I didn't! ....

Now I could go on, but it's clear for all to see from the above - and your own words - that you must know that you're wrong and won't admit it. It's very clear from this initial exchange that I said we were AT WAR, which you replied to by saying we WERE NOT AT WAR, then, probably realising you were talking pish & had got found out, changed your terms of reference again to saying that I said that we had DECLARED WAR. At no time have you ever, ever produced evidence that I said it, as it's clear for anyone that wants to check that I never, ever said that. More lying invention from Chesh. You're obviously desperate to cover up the fact that you're lying. Bit silly when it's all in print. You can't deny it - you clearly said we were never at war.

Now hopefully you'll put this to bed. There was a war in the Falklands which everyone in the country appears to know, apart from you. It happened. You're wrong. End of.

Now, with respect to the cessation of the war, Perhaps I've been clumsy with my words in presenting the situation. Yes, the fighting stopped on the FI. Yes, diplomatic relations were resumed. There is no doubt about it, & I hope you'll agree on this.

HOWEVER, the cause of the war has never been resolved. Never. The hostility remains, as no solution has been found or ground given, far less any agreement or treaty being signed. So the official hostility remains in place, and will no doubt remain so for the foreseeable future, especially as the oil exploration in the FI area continues. Yes, as usual, it's all about money.

But, I must concede that perhaps there has been an official cessation of hostilities and I've missed it. If this is the case, please supply me with a link to this document & I'll happily concede that the hostilities have ended. I have a vested interest, as I'm going to be in Buenos Aires in December, and again in February.

But I think it's a forlorn hope. You're not really a link giver, are you? I can understand this, as you often put yourself in a position where you claim something & can't prove it 'cos it's simply not true, and there is no link to find. Like on this occasion.
