Took the bus to Bristol near 20 years ago and there was a 4 hour stop in Birmingham. Took a walk around and it was genuinely 'spot whitey'.
Birmingham is home to some excellent galleries. The Ikon is a must if you like contemporary art. The BM&AG houses many masterpieces and spectacular exhibitions.
