Was "tidying up" earlier to try and get out the dog house and found this. I felt a warm glow for a few seconds as the epic memories from that day came flooding back, and then my hangover kicked back in.

In Piemonte, beautiful village called Vignale.

    Thought this wine most appropriate...

Quite dry with a fierce cutting edge to it, deep flavour with a mixture of honey and nettles that at times tastes bitter but once it’s gone it leaves you wanting more?

A relative turned up today with a bottle of this stuff. I honestly can't remember when I last drank it. Possibly early 1980s, maybe earlier. Used to be my favourite tipple in my youth. Must say, the sip I've just had did bring back some memories:

Google maps and pub reviews? They're usually pretty good points in the right direction.

Oh no! Just looking at the bottle reminds me of the last time I ever touched the stuff. I sat down in the high street after a night out and told my girlfriend I couldn’t move any further. My legs had just stopped working. She had to flag someone down she knew and ask them to take me home.

    I never married that one.

I like that neck of the woods. Fishing is good out of Portland too, if that's your bag and we're not having a hurricane.
Has a nice week there a couple of summers back, went out with this outfit catching tope and bass

I may have passed through there on a pub crawl last summer. I'd been on the Cheddar valley earlier on so it's all a bit hazy :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I've got to drive 6 miles just to get diesel. We're looking forward to the 21st century here though, in a few years.
