Bournemouth 2-2 Hammers Prem league Referee: Stuart Attwell Attendance: 10,729 Notts county v Fylde (who?) Conference Notts county 2-0 fylde Referee: Peter Gibbons Attendance: 9,090 Prem league, v 5th tier off football. So if it wasn't for TV, how could some (all clubs) cope? Less than 1800 fans difference, one can afford multi millions, the other **** all. 5 leagues apart.
That's the modern game. Bournemouth could probably double that gate in the PL, but there isn't really any incentive for them to build a new stadium, because match day revenue in the PL is dwarfed by tv money. I'm more interested to know how Notts County getting that sort of gate in the conference. Is that commonplace for them?
I'm not saying anything. I'm telling you they had a special promotion on the gate price....kids from £1....adults £3. What more do you want to know
without even lookin at anything, i'm pretty surer safc got 30/40k for a reserve game or something againt Liverpool i think What does bournemouth hold? was the 10k a sell out?
Ah so now we are getting nearer the truth, you want to tell us Sunderland get big attendances. Yeah we know mate. Next point...
Ok, here endeth this conversation. As it was about Notts county getting more than bounemouth, but i made the mistake off tagging miss blob on.
it's about tv money mike Ashley even said he doesn't care that much about selling tickets and that the fans don't really matter anymore and sadly I think he's right
Fair enough - better to play to packed stands than empty ones, however they get the punters in. Saints used to pack The Chapel stand with kids teams in League 1 - no idea what they were charged, if anything. A sound move though, imo - I often wonder how many of those kids have come back as adults?
Yeah the ground holds about 11k I think minus a few for segregation. I would assume that every PL game is a sell out.
I agree. In the lower leagues you can make as much money if not more on merchandise than you do on the gates. Under sevens they let in for free, but I wonder how many of them wanted a can of drink and something to eat from the club shop.
a big club now is quite simply a club that has the most money... fans are just there to sell the product to the tv companies
Yep...Bournemouth only holds 10 and a bit thousand. Tbh their catchment area covers Pompey and Southampton so they would not necessarily fill a 30000 plus ground so decided that rebuilding would be a waste. We rebuilt cos we could get other events cos of being in London...they'd get none of that kind of stuff.
Wembley is a joke mate...I can not believe that a ground made only 11 years ago is so ****. The London bit was about a new ground attracting other events like concerts, other sports etc...These are more likely to want to take place in london than in Bournemouth. Think that is a mixture of snobbery about London bring better and practicality regarding transport links.
