in the world of Plymouth Argyle. The situation is now getting to the point where the players and fans are paralysed by despair and lack of belief. After only nine games we are aready cast adrift into a small group of losing teams who are indicated for relegation. There is no obvious answer to hand other than effective additional players very soon and the resolution of the takeover. The latter may? be on course but another three weeks before an injection of finances, given the psychology of the squad equals a major fight to avoid non-league football. The question is we are down(in morale) but are we out?.
There was a poll on another site,Portsmouth I think, this week asking for votes on Plymouth. Are they going to be ok, struggle or nailed on for relegation this season. They have a poll of the day and as the originator had a soft spot for Argyle we were the question of the day. I voted. My vote was for the 3rd option as much as it pained me to say it. I just cannot see where a result will come from. We started off playing pretty football and looked good even though the results were not there. Reasons for hope if persevered with were there so I was not gloomy and even hoped Reid would persevere with the style. But, when you are down everything goes against you it seems and life just carries on kicking you in the bollocks. Even Refs have caught the habit. Sendings off, penalties against but not for. It just seems to me that the footballing Gods hate us and whatever we do it will go tits up. I can't give up on it but I am not hopeful.
It's not dark here Gat it's the bloody blackout at the moment. There is more light in the Channel Tunnel during a power cut.
Ah yes Sensible but we've stood shoulder to shoulder with pride and dignity this long, everything will come good soon !
You are turning into Churchill Gat................you'll be sitting in the back window of your car soon wobbling your head.
Gat/Reid- all -about- it,admire your fighting spirit, but I'm with Sensible on this,as much as it pains me -the reality is we can't even beat Barnet for christ sake, the team is sucked dry of any belief. It looks grim-it is grim!.Personaly I'm starting to prepare myself for the (real) possibility of Argyle dropping out of the league.
Good Morning Greengull, I know where you are coming from and yes we might end up in the conference league, but I don't think you can aportion any of the blame on Sir Peter nor the team. I think when you have a 16 year old on the pitch as a striker for a professional game it hi-lights just how bad things are at the moment ! But thats all the negatives, how about the positives ...... there are 92 teams in the professional leagues, name me one whose players would don the strip week in week out without getting paid. Whose staff would carry on working for nothing. The players and staff losing homes having to sell cars inorder to financially survive, all for the sake of a football club they don't want to see die ? Supporters who are turning up week in week out when we are bottom of the table still supporting their team ..... I can only think of one name and that is PLYMOUTH ARGYLE FC .... We have something unique and special and I for one am proud to be part of the Green Army whether we survive league two this season or end up going down into the conference league, there is no other team that I would support. I also think our luck will change soon, and the addition of a striker and a few more experienced players will turn this around for us. We are playing some decent football, and through no fault of their own, 9 of our squad have never played professional football before and have well and truly been thrown in the deep end. Keep the faith, Keep it green !
Mrs Reid thats the big mistake.........we should be playing them on the football pitches.......not the beaches or trenches.
Morning GAT,agree with all your points totally. As I have said in many recent posts-the players, manager and coaches, the fans and the support staff are in no way to blame for our present pedicament-how can they be?.You simply cannot criticise someone who turns up without pay in their job or career. As Brent said yesterday he has never come across a workforce who have'nt been paid for so long in business before. We can only hope in financial and footballing terms there is an improvement soon before the task of league survival becomes too big.As you said we have played some good stuff this season,I truly don't believe we have the worst players in the league, but it does'nt matter how good you are, if there is a lack of belief - as Peter Reid has aknowledged then you are going to struggle.I will be there on Saturday, and with the support of the Brighton fans and others we may turn it around-but sadly i can't say I'm looking forward to going.Heres hoping.
Forget what I said Greengull I forgot we had that lying scheming bastard still here ! Excuse the language but F**k off Risdale we dont want you here ! In the height of my anger I emailed him at Argyle saying the same thing lol
Gat............. you promised never to use that name until he was gone........I'll duck now shall i ?
Yeah I know I did Plymborn but that was before I realised the depths this lying cheating bastard would sink too ...... hope he rots in hell ! Risdale out, its our club !
