Well, his selection for Tuesday was spot on. His selection for today was great until the late injury pull out. So I'd say there's definitely learning going on. We just haven't got a brilliant squad, not sure why people think he have. We are in the middle of a messy rebuild, with particular attention going on clearing the massively over paid deadwood.
Makes you wonder if Hassenhuttl woke up this morning and forgot everything he learnt in his life before today. Terrible. I'm off before I get in trouble. I am fuming at Hassenhuttl, complete bottle job.
Somebody call st-john an ambulance. He can't handle losing at Spurs. Wait for the next couple of months!
Just seen Cedric was replaced by Vestergaard!!! What’s wrong with having a fullback on the bench ffs. Come on Ralph stop playing people out of position. Our CB’s don’t have the skill set.
Well that was a bit of a sickener. At 1-1 I thought we’d go on to win the game. At 2-1 I would have been delighted with a point. We lost because they have better players than us. Anyone blaming Ralph needs to give their head a shake.
We had a fullback on the bench - that same fullback was ignored by Ralph, who bought in Vestegaard, changed to 5 at the back (despite training all week with 4 at the back) and moved JWP out of position.
He probably did, but when you don’t have the best or better players, it’s always going to be hard. Sometimes I believe people forget that.
Possibly. But I don’t think we lost because of team selection or formation. I think we lost because there was a bit of a gulf in quality, and we were a bit unlucky not to get the draw, albeit against 10 men.
Does anyone know what Valery has done (or not done) to be so out of favour? Watching him last season, I really thought we were uncovering another gem.
Ok change my post to “what’s wrong with playing your fullback on the bench”. Did he change to 4 at the back when they went down to 10 men?
Fair enough. I think we could have won that (or at least got a point) if we'd had the original line up (or Valery at RB), or we made more attacking changes earlier in the game.
Yep, even with 10 men they are still a great side, and unfortunately we dont have the quality we used to. I think some criticism of Ralph is fair on this occasion, but no need to go overboard. Loris did make some great saves too. We just need to be better than 3 other teams this season.
Brilliant. Not seeing the match I can’t really criticise too much but these don’t sound like good choices.
True, but I’m fed up with having to think like that. I miss the positivity of the Pochettino and Koeman days.
Away at Tottenham is always going to be hard, there's no doubt about it - that's why I don't understand why Ralph made it even more difficult for the team with his strange decisions today. We could have had a decent chance today, with a bit more positivity.
