jeez this is hard work. Both full backs having a(nother) poor game . The front 3 have been almost as bad . Thought Wijnaldum has been the looked the most likely to create the chance apart from the ball towards penalty spot for Mane to run onto .
Tough half if football, without creating alot we should be two up. Similar to the Napoli game descion making and passing have been poor but the shooting has been abysmal
As poor as we’ve been, we still created two great chances. let’s see if Sheffield can keep up their work rate. Hopefully they’ll tire soon. they’ve done very well to stifle our full backs which are our biggest creators. When they can’t attack, then we really need our number 8’s to do More. Gini and Hendo need to step up.
They are restricting the space for the full backs to run into, it makes for a hard game for them. Plus the midfield 3 cant hold the ball to draw anybody to them to create space. I dont think weve been shocking, a bit slow in the build up and as always a lack of creativity in midfield hurt us.
Henderson spent a lot of the last 20 mins covering for Trent so he was always going to struggle to be much influence further up .
Think this always means that the ball over the top is always on, as their full backs can't be in two places at once. Mane and Bobby need to keep making those runs. Salah down the middle could be useful too.
