yes off course., not 6ft 10There is certainly more evidence presented for his theory than there are for any of the worlds religions.

I am amazed to see people still discussing Velikovsky . I read his worlds in collision about 50 years ago. The subject is amazing the man is quite boring but very thorough. The book keeps you reading because the ideas are way beyond orthodox but Veliikovsky's research is exhaustive and takes him around the world looking for evidence which he seems to find. In the end he is able to find the date of the day when he claims the earth was reveresed in it's rotation by a near collision with Venus. Yes I knowI will no doubt regret posting this but whether it's true or not it is one of the most amazing books I have ever read. The book I have posted above I have not read but seems to be saying that more and more of Velikovsky's theories are coming to fruition. There is certainly more evidence presented for his theory than there are for any of the worlds religions.
I'm interested to see the evidence that you believe supports his claim of an earth near miss with Venus, or indeed that Venus was formed as a comet from Jupiter, all in the last few thousand years.
I understood his ideas stem from religion and mythology, so if there is physical evidence that you can point to then I'll look at it. At the end of this I think it likely that it will be his powers of persuasion that impress thanks to a background in psychology rather than his grasp of scientific evidence.
Venus being hot isn't evidence and the claim that no one thought it could be hot beforehand is a lie. The fact that it has a dense atmosphere, tidally locked to the sun and lacks a molten core to generate a magnetosphere suggest the opposite and that it has seen very little action for a very very long time.

I am certainly of the belief that Scientists get plenty wrong
I still can’t believe they had me thinking I got to eat 5 a day when in reality it’s 7
But all my life up until the last few years or so...it was 5 and you all would have been shoving “evidence” down my throat to “prove” that it was 5!
But it has always been 7
I stick to the Holy Books...they tell better stories than the modern day “Gods” do
No worries mate
I don’t give a Donald Duck!

Science is always evolving though. It doesn’t claim to hold absolute truth, it attempts to explain phenomena in a way that can be tested. If a theory doesn’t hold water, then it changes and adapts. So it’s normal that scientific understanding will change as we learn more.

I find an extract in the Quran amazing which describes the cycle of pregnancy and how the Lord says he breathes the soul into the body when the foetus is around 40 days old.
Modern science says around 6 weeks.
Give them time and they will narrow it down closer to 40
Just like with my Fruit theory
