well so far this season we are far worse at shutting down games than last year as we keep leaking goals . Hopefully we will get this sorted soon as the defence & Adrian get used to each other .
Joe Gomez has accepted that he will not be selected by Gareth Southgate for England until he can find his way back into the Liverpool starting XI. https://www.skysports.com/football/...land-place-not-guaranteed-until-he-plays-more
LFC fitness update: Mane, Origi, Shaqiri and Milner latest Sadio Mane and Divock Origi have resumed full training ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Sheffield United this weekend, Jürgen Klopp has confirmed. Mane sustained a knock during the Reds’ victory at Chelsea last weekend, while Origi has been recovering from an ankle issue he picked up against Newcastle United on September 14. However, the duo took part in Thursday’s session at Melwood and are in contention for Saturday’s clash at Bramall Lane. Alisson Becker set to resume full training “Both trained yesterday,” Klopp told reporters at his press conference on Friday morning. “Sadio and Div, completely normal. No issues.” Elsewhere, Xherdan Shaqiri will not be available for the contest, but Klopp expects James Milner to be fit after picking up a back issue against MK Dons in midweek. “Shaq is not ready yet, he is doing rehab," the manager continued. "Millie got a knock in his back against MK Dons early in the game. It looked a bit awkward after the game but it should be good. Curtis Jones [is] another knock but that’s it.” Alisson Becker could return to full training on Sunday. Liverpool’s No.1 has been sidelined for seven weeks due to a calf injury and will miss Saturday’s trip to Sheffield United. However, Jürgen Klopp revealed during Friday’s pre-match press conference that the Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper for 2019 may be ready to take part in team training following the game at Bramall Lane. “Ali is in a good way. He did yesterday [Thursday], not with us but with the goalie coaches, a full session, so [he’s] getting closer and closer. We will see, now we have to talk to the medical department,” the boss said. “So Ali looks like he is close but the final word is with the medical department obviously, because we have to ask how it is exactly and that’s it. “Ali is not in contention for tomorrow, it looks like maybe he can train with the team maybe from Sunday on. We don’t know 100 per cent, but he’s really close.” https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/fi...ries-fitness-update-mane-origi-milner-shaqiri
I doubt it'll be preying on the minds of many of our players. No offence, but I never understand why anyone thinks stats like this mean anything. When was the last time we played there? We're an entirely different proposition now.
Think we just need to be patient today and just keep playing rather than trying to "force" it.If we do you have to assume we will score and they don't present a massive goal threat .
