Why does Bielsa notify Bowyer that Hernandez is not playing? Keep them guessing up to the last hour, it’s beyond me or am I missing something.
Perhaps he wants them to adjust to this, as his game plan will work better if they make the adjustments he anticipates? And it might upset their planning with this knowledge & they might make a last minute chnge to the plan, making it less robust than the plan they've been training for for days. A big clue is in 'the' presentation to the press where he said that he put 360 hours of prep into each match, and that spying the day before altered nothing in the plan, no matter what they found out, as it was too late to change the plan. Who knows? Bielsa is a genius, and I'm sure there is very sound reasoning behind it.
Just one point WJ I would like to point out and maybe explained to me is “360 hrs preparation into each game? That’s 15 days prep without sleep.... over 2 weeks prior to each game?” The man is or must be a machine.
LOL. Good point. I think the coaching team put in 360 hours & he works off the findings. As for the man being a machine - he is! Walks at least 8 miles a day to & from TA, all weathers, this allegedly being his 'thinking time'. First into TA, last to leave. Bed in office. Even the Don was never as dedicated as that (or perhaps kept it quiet, which wouldn't surprise me). Didn't someone mention on here that on top of his coaching team's efforts, he brings over a guy from Argentina for a week to concentrate solely on one upcoming player. The guy then goes home for a week before coming over for his next target. There's actually another guy who alternates on this schedule. All out of Bielsa's own pocket!
No need to take up a collection yet, the man has deep pockets! Still does not detract from what he does.
You're right I'm sadly lacking in confidence...it really is something I must work on as being meek and mild is holding me back in life.
Rainy morning but if I believe the BBC (I’m a trusting sort) it will be dry all afternoon for the game. Never been to Charlton before, looking forward to it.
He’s done it since he’s been here and given that he’s won far more than he’s lost, and we dominate most matches, it doesn’t seem to matter much Really need any sort of win today. Kill off the London hoodoo.
